Revolt

I wasn't sure to put this in creations or music, so I just stuck it in the first one.

This is a short trance track I worked on, on the side for a couple nights, it's called "Revolt." I'm slowly trying to get better at trance, or keeping up the delusion, and at the same time trying keep it somewhat dark. It was all done in FL studio for anyone reading this who uses that software.

Copy and paste it in your address bar, Angelfire is picky: http://www.angelfire.com/ill/dragonblaze300/Revolt.mp3

All the fade in's/fade out's are done with simple automation. The main heavy hitting drums are FPC snares with some frequencies cut out through a parametric equalizer, then hi-hatz and cymbals in the back of them. The beeping sound on each side (both are shapes from the menu, it's really better to be using 3x Osc) is on a free filter with a peak controller raising the low pass frequency up and down, ironically I still can't figure out how to use more than one peak controller in a project. The organ accompanying the orchestra sound is on a phaser. I am guilty of using some presets, but it's not my fault, it's Santa.

After the beat switch the kind of backdrop trance-ish/base sound is a TS404 preset, and has an automation track for both cutoff/env as well as a heavy phaser. Then the shape beeps go back and forth where one will have twice as many shorter notes and the other will hold like normal. The wet piano I snuck in there at the end involved a lot of tampering to get such good patterns, it compliments the whole thing well and keeps it darker than it'd be with just the orchestra.

I might expand this later on, dunno.

The last night I was finishing this up, two hours passed by without me noticing, and I was sober; which is why I don't work on trance much, lol.
