Lulu - there is a Chik-Fil-A in Toledo at the mall food court. :) Jon and I eat there when we make the trip down there to go to Torrid.

As for the Sonic Hype, I can't say we ate there regularly when we lived in NC. But they definitely have some different choices than we're used to at the fast-food joints here. And they have some really great treats.

None of it is good for you. But it all tastes damn good. :)

I've never had their food, but I have had a slushie, and they're good.

NOW! If they put an In-N-Out in Michigan, I'll be geeked! best hamburgers EVER! (Or anywhere near the east) CA based.

There used to be an In N Out in Westland. Probably not the same chain though. It's been there for years. Don't know if it still is though, I moved from that area (I grew up in Garden City) about two years ago.

As for Sonic ... it is my FAVORITE. I'm happy to see they are coming to Michigan.

Wow, about time, I've only been seeing the commercials for Sonic for like two years now.

I remember all the hype when we got the first Del Taco in the midwest - right in the Macomb Mall parking lot. I'm a bit skeptic as to how good their meat is though, they're like five times cheaper than Taco Bell and Taco Bell uses grade D meat :ralph:.

I believe Hot-N-Now are the same as In-N-Out. The only one I know of for sure is in Monroe. The one on Eureka near the airport closed years ago.

Hunhee - Sonic has the distinction of having both the typical slushies flavored with artificial syrups, AND slushies flavored with real fruit. The real fruit ones are delicious.

Bojangles - now we're talking greaseball food. I rarely ate there while in NC. Though a hot cinnamon biscuit was tasty once in a while.

Thusfar, I believe this is the only planned Sonic.

Del Taco - I stop in for a crunchy fish taco whenever I'm in the area, they're unique and fantastic. Otherwise, I think their stuff is overpriced for the sizes.

Alrighty. Commence the fish taco jokes.

Hot N Now ... that's what I was thinking of in Westland. They are the same, I've been told. There's one at Wayne Road and Ford Road ... or at least it was still there last time I was there last year.

Hot-N-Now is/was it's own Michigan based company. (Started in Holt) They went bankrupt in 2004 and most of them closed or were sold to Checkers/Rally's.

Sten Corperation (the holding company that bought them out after the chaptor 11) still runs a few Hot-N-Nows... but not many...

In-N-Outs are still owned by the Snyder family that founded them and they have no plans of selling the family business or going public.

God I miss me a Dbl Olive Burger Deluxe.

I cant wait to be able to eat at a Sonic. Im so geeked because the commercials were taunting me!

Del Taco is nasty IMO. Taco Smell is much tastier.

There is a Hot N Now on Gratiot right by Trixies on 10 mile.

There is also one on 23 mile road just past I-94.

Oh - in case anyone has had and yearns for Chick-Fil-A, McDonald's semi-new Southern Chicken Sandwich tastes JUST like them. Ask them to add Mayo and if you can, add honey too and you won't be able to tell the difference.

(Are Jon and I the only people who eat ar Chick-Fil-A's with mayo and honey?)

Shade and I seem to share a fondness for chicken biscuits.

Damn skippy.

It must have something to do with living down there while young. Though going down there to visit my father these days...even though Greenville has a lot of transplants, it's like a whole other world down there.

Seriously, culture shock in Tokyo wasn't as bad as going down there.

They are okay in a pinch, but I really can tell the difference. It's a sad (but appreciated) imitation. :(

Also, they're just not the same without waffle fries and a gigantic sweet tea.

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.

    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.
