Paper Hearts
Do you feel that any of the practices I described before are wrong? I didn't even get in how the animals are slaughtered-
phee
No not wrong at all.... I am just curious, I have been around vegans who wear leather, and when I ask them about it, they evade the question. I have seen people who by a large order of fries from Macdonalds and then get a diet pop.... I am just curious as to how a person thinks about these things. Paper Hearts
Okay, so it's not a moral thing for you, that's fine. Do you think that an animal treated like that would be a favorable thing to put into your body? On the health side of it-
Paper Hearts
And about the leather thing-i do have things that are made of leather, it's more about whether or not I buy more of it. Like shoes last for a while, so if I have a pair of leather boots, I'm not just going to through them away because I've decided to go animal product free. It's like, if you were to go vegan tomorrow, would you through out all the animal product foods in your firdge? No. the crime has already been comitted, so to speak, no sense wasting. Just use what you hav and buy no more. But It should be understood that it's very hard to be vegan, too. Sometimes people slip up or are forced to use animal products for lack of better more variety. The important thing though, is that they are at least trying.
phee
I am no expert, but I can think of a lot of people who do much worse things to themselves and don't give it a second thought, like car exhaust, or smoking, or going to city club and breathing.... I am just wondering why some people can do things that are horrible to themselves in some respect, and not in others... I am no exception to this, I am asking because I am curious about myself. Paper Hearts
Well, a big part of it for me is just that these are living, breathing, thinking, life. I don't need to eat them, I can get protein other ways. So why eat them? And again, I find that I feel cleaner, healthier when I stay away from eating them. phee
SO in the case of meat... the benifits outway the downside?
Paper Hearts
What benifits can I get from meat that I can't get from any other source? The down side is like colan cancer, heart attack, bitch tits, that kind of thing (if you're only taking into account health)

Paper Hearts
Ha! Yeah, the flavor, sometimes but a lot of times you have to falvor meat with like vegetables and spices. Sometimes meat is bland. There are entire cuisines based around vegetarianism, like middle eastern or Indian and those are the things I like to eat most. I almost go tIndian for lunch, today. Just face it Phee, you want to join peta. They can rename it Pheeta. Paper Hearts
Hey. why is it okay to eat other animals, but not people? I mean besides law and punishment, what stops you from eating humans? Aren't we animals too?
Paper Hearts
If everyone on Earth could just try to eat one person, all of our problems would be cut in half, literally, overnight.
phee
Funny that you should ask me that question.... in all honosty I did a project for a class at EMU that was supposed to be persuasive. I did it on "Pro Cannibalizm". My main points were 1.) Catholics claim to do it already 2.) It is no different from organ donation in the way I propsed it...(in organ donation you take a peace of someone else and put it into your body to live longer.... sounds the same as eating to me). And 3.) what is more immoral to you? letting millions of people go to bed hungry, or burying perfectly good meat to waste...?
Paper Hearts
Bravo! I'd be interested in reading that. lol You might like Billy Connely. He's a comedian who makes a lot of cannebalism jokes. He said: We have countries that have problems from over-population. We have countries that have food shortages, where people starve. The Answer seems obvious to me. Cannebalism.
phee
It was actually in an advance speech class... and I got an A++ on the project... I started the speech by handing out sweetend pork on toothpicks that were bite sized, they gobbled them up not knowing my subject... My first line was "What you are tasting, is the reported taste of human flesh"
