What Would You Recommend ...

I am sure it was the stomach flu virus I had but I got very sick the night I had cream of broccoli soup and a hot chocolate from Panera. Now it has turned me off to have it anymore.

So what would you like to eat or drink when it is cold?

So far I came up with ...

1. tomato soup

2. hot tea

I am going to miss hot chocolate. I suppose I can always have instant at home.

It will probably take a little while before you'll be able to think of hot chocolate or cream of broccoli soup without your stomach getting quezy, but eventually you'll get there and be able to enjoy them again. Not from Panera, of course, but somewhere else.

When it's cold out I like foods that are higher in carbs. They seem to stick to your ribs more and give you energy to fight the cold. I've been on a kick with making soups from scratch lately. Thick soups that are almost like a stew. A couple weeks ago it was Cheddar cheese soup with homemade croutons, then there was chicken noodle soup with spaetzle noodles, next week I'll be making beef barley soup, I think, or french onion. The funny thing is, I'm not a big fan of soup, but I like the one's I make.

I'll be over tomorrow night for dinner... :D

Mom kept saying it was the hot chocolate. But I have had hot chocolate with steamed milk at barnes and noble and it never bothered me. I doubt I can now.

Aaahhh, but if the milk was bad all the steaming in the world won't prevent it from making you sick. I had a bad latte a few weeks back. Thankfully, on the first sip I knew the taste wasn't right. I asked the barrista to check the lowfat milk and, sure enough, it was bad. It was out of date by a few days. Had I not caught it, I would have paid the price dearly!

Yup. Thats it no more hot chocolate outside from home for me. And for a while it will be instant.

I would assume it wasn't food poisoning b.c I was in the ER the next day for dehydration and they said my labs came back normal.

Doesn't matter if it was food poisoning or not, the association is there in your mind now. My daughter used to love cherries. One Sunday, just before coming home from her dads, she had eaten some. Shortly after coming home she started vomiting, including the cherries. She had a stomach virus, but from there on out she stated that she doesn't like cherries because she got sick. It's the same reason I will never eat bbq pulled pork sandwiches again. Yikes!

Hope you don't wind up with the same aversion to hot chocolate. It's too yummy!

Oh I know. Maybe I will just avoid coffee house hot chocolates :p

I wonder if that is why I don't care for pizza. I will eat it (now) but it isn't my favorite. And I don't seek it out. If it is being served I will eat it but I still dont care for it.

no bbq sandwhiches? oh no! i couldnt stand not having any bbq especially when I am in Memphis ;) Our last trip we had BBQ everyday.
