Scales
This is an interesting read: Maslow's hierarchy of needs --- From the way I see things, chemical reactions in the brain create a web of thought complexes. Thought complexes, in themselves, host human needs. There is a hierarchy of both thought complexes and human needs, from the most close to base to the most distant. Based on hierarchy, needs within thought complexes direct a person towards both their conscious and unconscious goals. Negative emotional responses have unmet needs behind them. The stronger the negative emotion, the more important the need is. Needs demand goals whether they are conscious or unconscious goals. I think what's interesting about needs is that they easily reflect the same meaning as insecurities, and give light to actions (which are caused by thought complexes). Need/insecurity also goes along with life skills, which brings up a lot of questions depending on the looking glass. Just my two cents.
Homicidalheathen
I totally agree. Thats why I stopped going to SRF. They tell you to ignore all negative feelings and surpress them until you can change them within you and to except what you cannot change..... And I found myself excepting too much crap and feeling icky all the time. Now I know when I feel uneasy its for a reason and I have to do something about it. Not just think oh well I am not in control of my emotions....

Not just think oh well I am not in control of my emotions.... Yeah, that'd be risky. It seems suppressing negative emotions just makes them grow and eventually causes a person to have more irrational/self-destructive actions.
