Can you taste this?

It is an after taste... and honestly, I dont know if other would be able to taste it. I'm one of those peoiple that avoids metal cans because I can taste the can... I can taste the plastic in bottled water too.

I don't like metal cans either, and most canned foods, although sometimes I still eat it anyway.

I can taste the plastic in bottled water as well, but it's better than tap water to me. I do not drink spring water either. I also don't like water that says "minerals added for taste" and yes, I can tell the difference between my good water and spring/tap water. It's been tested.

I do drink water at restaurants, but have thought about taking my own bottled water in.. I usually put lemon in it tho. Sometimes the water is so bad, I don't drink it.

I spent like 5 minutes staring at that line after I wrote it. debating an edit.

anyway, can someone break this off into it's own thread... right after the "candy tastes like medicine" issue and we started talking about Taste? The taste bit, not the other bit. Name it something like "Can you taste this?"

Red Bull always gave me headaches. Sometimes I drink Monster when I'm having a hard time getting going at work, but them I'm twitchy and my heart races and then I panic...so I try to stick to coffee.

I have the metal can/plastic bottle problem too.

That Snickers bar frightens me.

What the bloody hell is Taurine? I think it's a city in Turkey, but I don't think it has any business being in your candy bar.

Since when did candy have to work so damn hard? I mean, before it just had to taste good. Now it has to give you vitamins, and energy, and a city in Turkey? That's alot to expect for 79 cents.

And it's confusing! I mean, B6 comes from my vegetables. Good-tasting comes from candy. And now they took the good-tasting out of candy and put B6 in, and I just don't know which way is up anymore.

By the way, after I had the babies and I was in the hospital I got this thing called a spinal headache and, this is for real now, the only thing that alleviates the symptoms is salt and caffeine. I never thought I would hear a doctor say to me 'You need coffee and potato chips and you should feel all better' So I drank Mountain Dew and Frappucinos. And I gagged it all down. I can't believe people actually BUY that stuff because they think it tastes good. It was the most foul tasting bit of nasty I ever drank! Blech!

Water... Good Water... The best water i have ever had.. Artesian wells.

The water comes from deep uderground. So deep that natural pressure drives it up to the surface.

I admit,.. it does have a faint mineral taste... It's water that has not seen the light of day in a long time. filtered through the earth for eons.

There are places they exist in Michigan. People tap them and use them for house water. The water runs constantly... which means it's never in the pipes long enough to take on thier taste.

It's almost spiritual to me.

The biggest thing I can taste test is the difference between diet and regular pop. I take a sip of regular and I'm like "ugggh... :ralph" Unless I'm expecting it (every so often I feel like drinking a 20oz and going into a coma...because I don't eat refined sugar and that's what one of those does to me ).

My friends/family, when in doubt at fast food places or restaurants, always use me as a taste tester guinea pig, just to make sure the workers got the pop order right.

I can also taste if there's nuts in something. People will be like "oh, they're really little and there's not alot, TRUST me you can't even taste them" I used to take their word for it and try it anyway (baked goods are especially deceiving and satanic in this sense) but it would always me do one of these: :ralph So I don't fall for the evil nuts baked into stuff and the infamous line "Oh you can't even tell" anymore.

*stifles laughter at Chernobyl's honed ability to detect the presence of nuts*

Srsly though, have you ever been tested for a mild nut allergy?

I've been a vegetarian so long now I can taste if something is made with meat-flavoring, even if it has no actual meat in it. I'm not super picky, though, so if it has a little bit of beef or poultry flavor, I can usually still eat it. I can't stand pork or seafood flavor, though.

I can taste metal cans in soda, only. For other stuff like canned vegetables or soup, I don't really notice it. Plastic bottles have never bothered me, though I'm just not a fan of bottled water in general. I grew up in the country with well water full of minerals, so most other types of water just taste too purified to me.

As far as water is concerned, I can taste the plastic in bottled water. I also cannot stand the taste of well water. When I was kid I would tell my mom that it tasted like blood. That's because of the iron in it. Sometimes if the well water is high enough in iron, I won't even be able to gag it down.

As far as pop goes, I cannot taste the plastic from the bottled pop. I can't taste the metal in the can either unless I put water in it after I get done with the pop, then I can taste the metal.

I can also taste the difference in diet and regular pop especially when Mountain Dew is concerned. Diet Mountain Dew is the devil. Diet pop tastes more watered down to me, so I can definitely taste the difference.

OMG!!!!

I love the taste of coke in a glass bottle. There was a little conveinence store on the way to Harbor Beach that used to sell them and my mom bought me one. I don't know if they sell them still, but I would have to say I would take pop in a glass bottle over in a can or in a bottle anyday.
