Awesome Make-up

Recommended Posts

OMG ... I LOVE THEM.

I have blue, green and purple from the HIP line. (I actually have all three in the top picture). LOL.

I also have two or three of the bottom picture ones in blue and purple. I want the green but our Target has been out of the green one.

OMG - this shit is amazing!! the cream shadow (that I actually use as liner) doesnt smudge or wear off at all!! but to get it off is a bit tricky, so I use eye make-up remover - they're new line fucking rocks!!!

As a pro artist, I have to ask:

What WERE you using to remove your eye makeup? This stuff will come off with that or even Vaseline. And yes, it's awesome makeup. I'd also like to point out that this IS cream eyeliner and not shadow. If you're using this as shadow, it's no wonder that you can't get it off. It lasts.....

About how much does this new HIP line of make-up cost? Do they have colors like silver and black and red and dark blue? Those are the colors that I'm mainly looking for. I'm also looking for lipstick that doesn't wear off after 10 seconds.

They have red lipstick/lipgloss. Lots of shades of pink. I haven't used those.

Eye makeup though they have pinks, greens, blues, purples, golds ... etc. I've priced them out a lot of different places. Go to Target, they have the best deals on them (like $3 - $4 cheaper than others). Invest in good wet wipes though, because it is a little harder to get off. Huggies wipes (which is what my kids use anyway - cucumber and aloe or something like that) takes it right off for me.

I. Need. Red.

:(

You know MAC makes a color called Passionate that is a mid tone red but its a REAL RED =) If you get some primer ( Hell even if you wear it with out primer) I think it is very you C.

It runs about 14$, but you'll get a ton of use out of it.

As for the Hip line, I dig it =), though I will always be a MAC girl at heart.

If you like the Hip line, look at Urban Decay ( C they also have a red called gash that is pretty decent as far as red eyeshadows go) again like the MAC, they are a bit more expensive, but in makeup you truly get what you pay for.

The HIP cream eyeliners are indeed awesome. Just counted & I have 19 different HIP items in my magic box of tricks... and I think 2 or 3 stashed at Josh's place. Love the stuff, we had a thread here devoted to raving about it back when it first launched. It's sooo hard to find colors that are true & bright on dark skin. The website's cool too, the "looks" are easy to re-create & the little beat-making feature is a highly entertaining time-waster. Pricing on the HIP line is higher drugstore range- most items around $7-15. Now, if they would just make a really dark plum/wine lipstick!

I have two gorgeous dark blue HIP shadows... "Retro" Concentrated Shadow Duo, and "Beckoning" Shocking Shadow Pigment. The second is brighter & flashier but would still be quite dark on caucasian skin. Also "Midnight Blue" Color Truth Cream Eyeliner, one of the few blue liners I've found that doesn't make my eyes ooze blue goo all day. I don't have these, but I know the Pure Pigment Shadow Stick comes in a silver color, and one of the shadow duos has black.

Critter, I have some true red shadow & a liner pencil by Kryolan (theatrical makeup), there are a few people on eBay who sell it. Also Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow in Heat and Liquid Eyeliner/Shadow in Gash are both pretty damn red, prolly even more so on lighter skin.

LOVE those MAC pigment shadow powders... esp. the Ruby Red, Copper Sparkle & a bright azure blue that I wear a lot (if you've seen me at City you've seen me wearing them). Prolly won't be getting more anytime soon tho, since eBay apparently won't let people sell the little sample-size containers anymore. I'm almost out of Fairylite & can't afford the full-size product *sob*.

I STILL say we should do a DGN makeup party!

I just bought the hip liner in purple today. I'll need some practice with it. I wish I was better at girl things.

The secret is to sit down during some idle time & just play with it... don't wait till you're getting ready to go out somewhere. Essential with pigment powders & mineral makeup, which often look VERY different on than they do in the container.

I haven't tried this product yet. But I get paid tomorrow, so....

If it's the brush in the picture at the top, then yes, it's supposed to be stiff. You can use other applicators if you find them more comfortable or that they work better. The brush pictured is what I use when I am using an eyeshadow as a liner. Just seems to work best for me. Good control.

It definitely works really well, it's just so stiff, it's a little pokey. I have some nerve damage from a surgery years ago near my eyes, so pokey stuff on the lids feels odd. Just have to buck up for beauty I suppose ;)

I'm not crazy about the brush that comes w/those liners, either... the pokey feeling doesn't bother me too much but I like a bit longer brush for eyeliner. I have a Face Secrets liner/concealer brush (from Sally Beauty) that I love, it's thinner & stiffer than a regular shadow brush but not as stiff & bristly-feeling as the HIP liner brush.

Thanks a lot Brenda- I now feel compelled to buy everything on the Medusa's Makeup site. Gawd what awesome looking stuff! And I can't believe they actually have a white shadow powder called "Blow"... too fuckin' funny!
