Scientist Discovers Blue Eyed People Related

You're a ginger??? The South Park episode with Gingers was on again last night. I love that episode.

:rofl: BWHAHAH! Nobody ever fucking gets it when I reference that episode. Apparantly only you and I saw it, Nilhil.

Last Saturday I called my cousin a Daywalker and he was like "WTF did you just call me?" I was like "You heard me ginger". He asked me what a ginger was and I was like "Duuuh...someone who has the genetically caused condition, Gingervitis. You know translucent skin, ear wiggling abilities, carrot hair, freckles, no soul (I don't believe this, I'm pulling it from South Park btw for those who haven't seen it. Since my hair is very cherry atm, I obviously have nothing against real gingers, I just joke about it)."

Whooo it was good :laugh:

i think that its crazy how blue eyes (i have heard) is a dominant gene, but yet in most families that i have witnessed, that have one parent blue eyes one with brown, there are more children with brown or even hazel eye!

Brown eyes are dominant. For instance

B = Allele for Brown

b = Allele for Blue

If your code is: BB you have brown eyes and if two parents both code for BB then all of their children will have brown eyes no matter what.

If your code is: bb then you automatically have blue eyes. If two parents have the code for bb (or if both parents are blue eyed) then their children can only have blue eyes.

If your code is: Bb than that is where dominance is displayed. Since you have a "B" in the equation that individual will have brown as an eye color, yet have the ability to pass on alleles for blue eyes. So for instance if you have two parents who code for "Bb" they will both have brown eyes but due to the random pairing of chromosomes their children may have either blue OR brown eyes and can have the possiblity of all combinations (BB, bb, and Bb).

That's all just in a nutshell, as in a very condenced, short, and basic explination. Green eyes throw the whole equation off :laugh:.

My eyes are the color of a summer storm and the gloom that surrounds it (greyish blue). Really they're blue, but they're light to the point where they look greyish and empty. See...I was just born to be goth :tongue:.

I've never really taken pictures of just my eyes. I'll look into doing that when I have the time and posting 'em.

So...if I'm understanding this right, my nephew who has blue eyes and my dad who has blue eyes are related to people that I'm not because I have hazel eyes??? Or is that we are still related to the same people, they just have a certain genetic mutation? If that's the case, I can call my dad a mutant. LMAO!

Another thing that I have heard is that if a couple has four children, one of the children is guaranteed to have either blond hair or blue eyes. I don't remember where I heard that, but does anyone know if it's true?

Also, my mom was born with gray eyes. When she was pregnant with me, one eye turned green and the other eye turned brown. Was that just due to pregnancy or is that another genetic mutation that just took awhile to form?

My stepdad has like a black dot in the colored part of his eye. Does anyone happen to know what that is or what causes that?

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.
