Hey, everybuddy,

If you *did* miss me, you pretty much knew where I was: I have been busy under my real name, as Michael Marcus, one of the two legendary Hamtramck Idea Men! Our first two comic books are out, Pulp Dreams #2 is at the printer, and George and I have been working like crazy to get our comics, games, shirts, and other things moving. Today, for example, we were interviewed by Cult Pop, a local cable access show; we've also been interviewed by Dangerous Lee, reviewed by N3rdcast and Comic Book Noise, seen at the Pontiac Creative Arts Center and at ConFusion... Where have YOU been?

BTW, Troy, we have our own five-station silk-screen apparatus. We can make DGN shirts and such for you... and any of the rest of you out there! And on ANY color shirt.

Well SOMEONE misses you, even if its not "you guys" as a collective. Theres a sea of people around here. =) "DGN" always misses people.

I'd be all for the shirts thing, if we actually had any significant money to spend, the donations barely scrape bottom to pay for DGN (and recently its even worse than in months past).

Nice to see your alive. =)

welcome back J.

hows the comic business going?

The comic book business is going through "interesting times." Diamond is forcing us to buy UPC barcodes from GS1, but then they rejected Pulp Dreams #1 and IF-X #1 despite some of the other utter crap that they carry. Meanwhile, we continue to get good reviews and we continue to do well at conventions, in-store, and on-line sales. Nineteen different stores carry HIM books, and we're trying to get more and find better distribution.

Next weekend, we'll be at SPACE 2008 in Columbus, showing our stuff off to the rest of the Small Press crowd, but it looks like our first printing of Pulp Dreams #2 might turn out too dark for our liking. We'll probably do a re-print, depending on how things come back from Brenner.

Atop this, we're trying to sell ad space in our books for real cheap (heck, we have a $10 ad space for people who want to advertise but can't afford a full ad!) so that we can afford to actually both print the books and *pay* the people who contribute. Again, mixed successes there.

Right now, we need people to read the books so that they can tell us what they think of them; we need to have exposure at the bigger levels, and we need to show we're more than a good product--we need to show that we're viable.

Help us out, guys!

.....so you could do a purple logo like in the header on a black shirt?

how much?

could you do ozzfest shirts for my little ozzfest family? its our 2nd annual gathering, i think shirts this year would be awesome.... let me know sir :)

Yes! We can do a purple logo on a black shirt, but I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "the header..." If you're talking about the neck-hole, that might be more difficult.

Yes! We can do ozzfest shirts!

Set-up charges are $10 per side of shirt to be screened. The rest all depends on:

1) Who is providing shirts (we can bulk-order blanks, or you can use your own source).

2) How many colors are being used in the product, and

3) How many shirts are being done--we'll happily cut you a deal for large orders!

Anyway, this is all getting into technical stuff. If you're interested in pricing something out, please contact me at michael@idea-men.us and we can do business!
