So Raven is without unemployment, and NOBODY is hiring. Not even McDonald's. Not a SINGLE fast food place from what I could see.

I'm not asking much, but if you live on the eastside (we're from Clinton Twp), if you see a "now hiring" sign...could you possibly take the time to post what business it was and where you saw it?

I will give you massive hugs and would be eternally grateful.

Preferably some place that's south of 16 Mile (he has to take a bus because his shitty car broke...AGAIN. We've already thrown about $1,200 into that thing and this time it'll take another $600 we don't have to fix!) but obviously we're desperate and will take anything.

ANY signs at all...please.

I can't keep supporting two people with $387 rent, $40 electric bill, $50 phone bill that I can't cancel because then I'll get fined, $50 internet (we cancelled the cable...the internet may HAVE to go next), and gas to get to work and school all month. We don't even buy groceries...our house is almost a third world country. I dub it "The People's Republic of Congo" 'cause even those poor little African kids you see on TV probably eat about as good as we do (slight exaggeration...but hopefully you catch my drift). I only make $8.50 an hour and can only work about 20 hours a week or less through my job and with my mom throwing $240 a month at my bills (which SHE shouldn't have to do either since she needs to retire sometime) I only bring home less than $640 a month.

You might want to widen your search... and then just figure out how to get transportation *after* getting the job.... might increase chances of getting one.

That's what my ex did. He has no car ... still has no car, but by widening his search, he was able to get a job about 15 minutes from uh ... where he stays, and pay someone weekly to take him to work when she doesn't go. He's been working at a large retail store doing tech work since the beginning of December now.

Basically the guy is hiring 5 people...and only 8 showed up to the interview!

Since it's physical work he'll probably sway more toward men and not women...and for those of you who have met Raven you'd know that he is strong, tall, and sexy. Mmm...Raven

Oh shit...where was I? Oh yeah. So also taking that into consideration he was not only the first person to call on the job but also the first person to the interview. The prospective employer was VERY impressed with his experience and attitude also, and even gave him the low down on the job (i.e. pay, schedule, etc). That's always a good sign because if they thought they didn't want to hire you they wouldn't go through the trouble of giving you mass detail about the job and telling you the start date and what the pay is.

SO...we'll find out at 6pm on Wednesday and if it happens then Raven owes Meg a long island . Keep EVERYTHING ON YOUR BODY CROSSED!

I think the Dollar Tree is hiring at 12 Mile and Van Dyke if I remember correctly. I will definately let you know what I see. I used to be a job developer, and am unemployed also. :( I will definately keep my eyes open..........

If he doesn't though, God forbid, the new Nordstrom's on Hall Rd will be opening soon and they are taking applications on their online site.

Right across the street, there is a new restaurant bar/grille place (I think) called Potbelly that has big Now Hiring signs in the windows. It isn't open yet though, I am not sure when it is opening.

He can check out these places too.
