I think we should petition to have our name changed. I think we bicker too much about religion and beliefs to really Unite under any common cause whatsoever.

If I can be frank here, (instead of Kevin for a moment) I just think that our country's name should be a reflection of our country. It really doesn't work when it's a lie.

I mean that in itself is kind of a bad joke to the rest of the world.

I don't think we've been United in anything since 9-11, and honestly I think it's sad that it takes an attack to get anyone off their asses.

But we all know how that goes.

At least if we petitioned for something that common sense spits out at us daily, we could be assured that opinions and beliefs wouldn't matter. Divided States of America is a plain cold fact.

United, we're too strong.

Divided we fall.

Why do you think tribes and communes have been discouraged as well as clans in this country?

No room for groups to have opinions.

That's just anti-money.

We might start sharing shit that we would otherwise borrow from a friend or brother.

That would be way too big of a blow to the economy.

If we practiced the art of sharing.

I don't think the rich folks would like us much.............

P.S. I wasn't saying that to be a jerk. Watch a documentary sometime. They're all about brainwashing their kids to be clones of them. I think there was a passage somewhere about misleading children and the destruction that will come on such a person, but I think they skipped over that part......

I'm sure Paul is rolling in his grave. I don't know who's bright idea it was to entrust a convert to write a religion, but it seems that most people are pretty hip to his pseudo-Christ philosophies. I guess Paul just couldn't get over his own hypocrisy though. He has turned the Bible into one of the biggest jokes in human history by documenting his opinions along with the facts, and as such has made a ridicule of God, and a spectacle of himself.

I'm sure he had the best intentions when he was gay and women bashing, but you know how intentions are.

I'm sure a Roman Emperor had the best intentions to when he wanted to unite all his people under one God flag to follow a structure that was never meant to be.

Then again, saying it wasn't meant to be is subject to debate.

God's no idiot. He knew how this would all turn out.

He also knew that people suck at listening and are always waiting for their turn to speak instead.

Good job Paul bro. I got a kick in the nutsack coming for you when I see you.

I was actually thinking of designing a nice flash site for bartering with a MySQL backend to store everything....

I'm still a little confused about why people still use html at all when Flex has been out forever, and we had amfphp before Flex anyways. I guess they like really lame looking sites after all? I don't know......

People hate good change too I guess. Especially when it's beautiful and 50 times more functional.

15 minutes of code and an hour of design time, and I'm sure it'll be both more functional and better looking than any other bartering site. I just need to find the time between being a post whore at the moment and working on stuff that actually pays me money immediately instead of waiting for advertising funds.

This country was founded as a Federation. People today forget that.

Federation:

1. the act of federating or uniting in a league.

2. the formation of a political unity, with a central government, by a number of separate states, each of which retains control of its own internal affairs.

3. a league or confederacy.

4. a federated body formed by a number of nations, states, societies, unions, etc., each retaining control of its own internal affairs.

I should add, thats the form that was chosen... it's basis is a Constitutional Republic

Republic

1. a state in which the supreme power rests in the body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by representatives chosen directly or indirectly by them.

2. any body of persons viewed as a commonwealth.

3. a state in which the head of government is not a monarch or other hereditary head of state.

Well aside from that being known to anyone who went to high school and had to take a semester of government class, I think you kind of missed the point.

How can you have representative government when lobbyists interfere with the law making process, Congress caters to their needs, and legislation votes on the very laws that they write. That sounds a bit closer to authoritarian to me, except that the authoritarian nations don't hide their designs behind the smiley faces of fuck face fratboys.

It may be known, but knowing does not equate to understanding. Which, you clearly don't

legislation

1 : the making or giving of laws; specifically : the exercise of the power and function of making rules that have the force of authority by virtue of their promulgation by an official organ of the state

2 : the enactments of a legislator or legislative body

3 : a matter of business for or under consideration by a legislative body

legislator

1. a person who gives or makes laws.

2. a member of a legislative body.

As for lobbyists... writing to you Senator makes you a lobbyist. Protesting on the steps of Congress makes you a lobbyist. Some people are better at it or pool thier resources. You get rid of lobbyists, you get rid of one of the main tools of the people to be heard.

practices that are a problem

say senator a needed help so he voted for senator b's proposition....now senator b is helping senator a not becouse senator b belives what hes doing is right but becouse senator a helped them out at an earlier time when he needed to get something passed.

Corporate lobbyism is in my veiw a problem becouse a corporation will hire these people to help sway laws in the corporations favor, not only will they try to convice the lawmaker to be swayed but often times they draft the legistlation itself instead of the congress persons staff which then the congress person signs off on...

and in practice when a company pays a lobbyist to take a senator and or their staff members out to dinner with a company credit card in order to sway that member of congress to agree with whatever they are trying to push.... after the lobbyist gets the person they are trying to sway a little intoxicated with fine wine

i find it a problem becouse its very very commonplace

You're talking about evangelicals right? Yes I've seen the documentaries "Jesus Camp" I know exactly what you're talking about. It's absolutely scary, and they claim blind faith in our political leaders like Bush...

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE STUPID PEOPLE IN A LARGE GROUP!

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.
