Structured Religion And It's Casualties

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry man but anyone who treats God like an academic subject probably isn't all that in touch with their feelings or God for that matter.

Anyone who thinks we're all the same is surely confused.

Anyone who thinks we all have the same laws, is far beyond confused.

Anyone who thinks a universal measuring stick should be applied to the World is a fascist.

If I jackoff ten times tomorrow, I highly doubt that God is going to sit their and watch me.

If he does, I just might ask him about that......

Most Dad's don't watch their kids jackoff or fuck.

I'm sorry.

I think our big Daddy just wanted to save us from some serious complications in spreading stupidity too quickly.

As well as disease and some other things.

On the otherhand.

If you have some serious guilt issues about jacking off and fucking girls, you probably shouldn't do either.

That's just common sense.

No one's conscience is the same.

But God governs us all.

And loves us all.

Even if we are different.

What are we hating or destroying by getting a little nookie?

I don't know man. That's my shit.

Judge me how you will, but I just think that Christianity is about as full of shit as the Devil himself.

That's why I'm proud to say that I'm a Jew that accepts Jesus.

He was a Jew too, and I'm definitely no better than him.

Christians can have their politics.

I'm not judging them.

I think they're wrong.

Who cares but me?

Probably a very few people......

I think most other people are quite content to do nothing and be given credit for their kind words and ideals alone.

Maybe an hour in a soup kitchen 3 times a year makes them feel like a better person.

Maybe they think they've won something by sitting in a pew talking to Air and some man who claims to be something other than a tax collector.

If only the government could guilt us into paying taxes so easily.

I'm sure Rupert Murdoch would be first in line.

I don't know....

Judaism and Christianity are two different things. Neither one of them is wrong. Everyone believes something different, and will worship God and Jesus in their own way. Or they will worship what they believe in, whatever that may be. I believe in God and Jesus but I probably don't worship him in exactly the same way as someone else, but that doesn't mean that either one of us is wrong.

what is it that you want Kevin?

A free country that doesn't try to tell me how I should worship God, how much I should care about dying children around the world, and pretty much just doesn't try to tell me how to live my life period. That's between me and God, and frankly I'm sick of this "Bible belt" self righteous Americana mentality that has no place in our government whatsoever.

If we can't forgive our enemies, how can you expect God to forgive us?

What do I want? I want teacher's unions to disband so I know people are competing for jobs to teach our children instead of working just hard enough to keep theirs when there's better teachers out there that can't find work because of contracts that destroy the welfare of our children.

I want my daughter to come back from school and know that she's not being picked on for being smart.

It's kinda lame that shit hasn't changed in 20 years, but if asshole parents can't teach their children manners and place some kind of value on intelligence, then I don't really see the point.

I've got all the books in the world as well as music and art. I'm not really sure what else she needs but my love, but she sure as hell doesn't need to deal with this kind of shit at school.....

Who teaches these children that it's OK to be jealous of other kids, and does nothing to correct them?

I'm sorry but an uncorrected child will probably grow up to be a punk, and if you don't have the time for it, maybe you should buy some freaking latex instead of ruining our world one child at a time.

One bad kid is like a virus.

Maybe one day people will realize that sparing a child discipline will only lead to destruction.

Until then, my heart hurts more daily knowing that our future leaders will suffer because of the incompetence of our present ones.

Feelings are in a sense the underlying motivation for thoughts and action. The proverbial engine that makes us want to get up out of bed in the morning at a fundamental level.

But the final arbiters of what we believe should be our reason/intellect. Feelings are the worst way to seek truth (if they are the main tool) as they are far more easily misunderstood, manipulated and/or just plain selfish. Reasoning is susceptible to such things as well, but at least we have the ability to debate and discuss what the right thing to do is not just "feel" what is right. I feel like i don't want to pay taxes but that has nothing to do with the truth or falsity of the matter. I feel like I'd like to have several idiots take long walks off short piers. But, how i feel from an emotional level is a poor system of governing beliefs. This is own newborn babies choose their actions based on what "feels" right, we want to avoid this and view it for what it is.. a lack of or very poor reasoning.

Reason is best tool we have to find the truth of course its flawed, but its much better than deciding what is true based on how my "mood" or "feelings" hit me. Once we start relying on feelings to tell us if atoms exist or don't exist or if the universe was created or evolved or what we "feel" is the best system of government any other thing, we are on a slippery slope that ends with total unreason and anarchy. Intelligence is mankind's greatest achievement, to ignore it in favor of acting on often selfish and often totally unreasonable "feelings" to find the truth is a mistake.

good post.

the problem can often be, that feelings are still always a factor in even our intelligent decisions. I agree that pure feelings in and of themselves can be misleading and or misconstrued, I agree. But I also beleive that we tend to sometimes rely on pure logic and or intillect - because it "feels" like the safest route....which lead me to think that once again, our foundations are feeling based.

its a difficult balancing act.

I also feel that Troy's admission of wanting to have some people take a long walk off a short pier was rather refreshing. :)

Not trying to be an ass Crunchy, but I wanted to remark on a few things, and if you want we can talk in private.

I'm sorry man but anyone who treats God like an academic subject probably isn't all that in touch with their feelings or God for that matter.

Ok I come from a very analytical background, so I tend to veiw things more structured. Does that in your opinion make me a "Bad Chrsitian"? Faith and religion is also should be studied, but at a more personal level...after all take the word religion out of it and lets call this what it is....an INTIMATE relationship with god (or jehova, buddah etc for you pagan bastards lol J/K)

Anyone who thinks we're all the same is surely confused.

Physically yes we are the same. We are made up of the same goey stuff.

Anyone who thinks we all have the same laws, is far beyond confused.

That depends on what laws are you referring to? The laws imposed by people or spiritualy?

Anyone who thinks a universal measuring stick should be applied to the World is a fascist.

Care to elaborate?

If you have some serious guilt issues about jacking off and fucking girls, you probably shouldn't do either.

That's just common sense.

Ok, but I don't know if your just venting out or if there was a point to this.....

But God governs us all.

And loves us all.

Even if we are different.

I Don't know what your really talking could you clarify? Your views on religion vary from day to day, so to me when it comes anything you say when it comes to faith or religion/spirituality it's hard for me to really hold any value to your beliefs even on something so small as god loves governs and loves us all.....So maybee I can ask you where you are at spiritually? Could you explain your beliefs so that I MYSELF better understand where your comming from?

What are we hating or destroying by getting a little nookie?

Depends whether your referring to this spiritually or not

Judge me how you will, but I just think that Christianity is about as full of shit as the Devil himself.

He was a Jew too, and I'm definitely no better than him.

Christians can have their politics.

I'm not judging them.

But YOU ARE Judging them. Your topic alone casts judgement.

I think they're wrong.

See you judged again right here

I think most other people are quite content to do nothing and be given credit for their kind words and ideals alone.

This I will agree with you (if I understand this right) most people will claim a faith and that they are good at it and put zero effort into what they say they are doing/are.

Is this

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.
