Sorry....maybe its a chip on my shoulder because I didn't exactly grow up with fantastic self esteem, but I've always been disgusted with girls like these....check out this article....

Teens grounded by manners, not by looks

Passed by for a beverage? Waiting for the lavatory? You can still be polite

Long ago, when I was deep into the ugly duckling phase of my teen years, my mom would remind me that “beauty is only skin deep” and suggest I focus on being smart and nice instead.

Sort of a mixed message, sure, but definitely not the “just stand there, look pretty and stamp your feet if you want something” instructions Nisreen Swedberg and Sarah Williams seem to have received.

Police were called in to escort these two 18-year-olds off a Tampa-to-Los Angeles flight operated by Southwest Airlines this past Valentine's Day. The duo had caused an in-flight disruption. And these days, when that happens, airlines and law enforcement officials don't mess around.

What caused the ruckus? Well, it seems that first Swedberg felt sorely dissed by not being served water before take-off and then getting skipped over during the in-flight beverage service. Then Williams needed to use the lavatory, but found it occupied. Either she really had to go, or she's not accustomed to having to wait — regardless, witnesses say she banged on the door and then got into a heated exchange with the passenger who finally emerged from the bathroom.

Southwest Airlines spokesperson Beth Harbin says the police were called in to meet the flight in Los Angeles because “the girls were verbally abusive to another customer ... using profanities ... and getting in his face.”

Airplanes, especially full 737s, are very contained spaces, Harbin emphasized, and situations like this capture everyone's attention. “You cannot let an incident elevate in that environment. Flight attendants are asked to contain and calm situations as quickly as they can. But at 30,000 feet we don't have the opportunity to just ask someone to leave.”

Although it sounds like that would have been an appealing option.

The young women have a different take on the story — one they were all too happy to share with a local TV station in Tampa Bay. As the camera panned up her legs, past her brightly manicured nails and off-the-shoulder blouse, Nisreen Swedberg calmly explained how unfairly she'd been treated, how she didn't feel as if she'd done anything wrong and that she was surely singled out “based on my looks.” On the phone, Swedberg's friend, Sarah Williams, told the TV reporter, “I think they were just discriminating against [us] because we were young, decent-looking girls. I mean, nobody else on the plane looked like us — except us.”

Get a clue

Ladies, it wasn't that you were “too pretty to fly.” You were too rude. And, sadly, stereotypically clueless.

Opinions?

I would like to say that I am surprised by this, but I am not. Parents coddle thier little "baby" and make sure that they are always the center of attention, and shy away from disciplining thier children and try to be friends instead of thier parents. Kids need structure, and a decent role model. Parents who let thier children run free and do whatever they want are just setting them up for failure. Thanks for the post.

I was watching something the other night and they were interviewing the two girls.

They were pretty much embarrasing them self's, making up their own words ( in the G.W. way, which is NEVER a good idea.).

Honestly yes it is annoying, but I also feel bad for people like that. They have no values by which to live. Not to mention NO education. One day the beauty by which they define themselfs with be gone and they will have nothing.

Wow, what a couple of rocket scientists these ladies must be.

Eh, more spoiled, whiny brats throwing temper tantrums. *yawns*

It seems like these young girls in High School (the popular ones, who just pick on every other girl out there ) think that they are invincible, beautiful and KNOW EVERYTHING. It's truly pathetic.

For instance we went once to an 89x show, and we (my Fiancee and I) were near the stage, when this little skinny mini (she didn't even look like the type of person that would listen to rock, punk, alternative music)came pushing from behind me, because she wanted to get closer to the band.

She was pushing me right in my ribs so I turned around and politely asked her if she could please stop pushing onto my ribs! Her comeback was: " My brother's up there". I said: "excuse me, I don't care if your grandmother is up there stop pushing". So her and her friend who are still behind me are plotting something, as the band comes to the stage they start deliberately screaming into my ears as close as possible, and after the 3rd time I turned around and said what is your problem. She said that I was the problem and right away started telling me to F myself.. I could care less, however when she told my Fiancee F you .. it was all over. Without thinking I punched her in the face making her fall onto the crowd, as she was falling she started kicking everyone in front of her like a mad cow. She's lucky Tom pulled me after the first punch other wise I would have knocked out her teeth...

It felt so liberating after all of that :peanutbutterjellytime: wish I could do that often and get away with it lol ...

I elbowed a 17 year old girl at a concert once for this...and didn't feel bad at all. Pretended it was an accident, since she had been elbowing me in the ribs for like 20 minutes. It was VERY liberating.

I think that people are drawn to these types of stories as a form of proletariat masochism. The middle-class and below along with the mid-range looking to downright ugly seek out these stories as a means to deliberately infuriate and disgust themselves.

OR...just throwing this out there......it happened to be on the front page of my MSN Hotmail page and I clicked on it.

But lets analyze what you're hinting at here.....and lets say I use myself as an example. I am not a small girl, and perhaps to many, not that typically 'hot' so to speak......would people like me really have to be DRAWN to these stories OR SEEK them out, considering the media today? Regardless of the class you are in, if you hit up any major news website, turn on your radio or television, or step outside of your home...you see people like these two girls. Its not exactly a Popular Science "Rare Breed of Teenager Found" type of story.

Not to mention this isn't the only type of story infuriating and disgusting us middle-class ugly people....perhaps you might have missed all the posts we made about the OTHER topics in the news over the last few days?

I'm not calling anyone on this board ugly, if that is what you think I was hinting at. I'm referring to the exact same demographic that the stuck up bitch was; in other words, people that are not like her and her friend. Neither am I saying that this story is unique, in fact my point was that this case and people's reaction to it so common that it is telling of human nature. Not just the case of the two bitches itself, but the public's hunger for further material to exercize outrage. There are stories that disgust and infuriate us for practical reasons: because they effect our lives directly. And these stories are presented on this board (consisting of official action on every level of government, crime, weather, art.) There are, on the other hand, stories like the one above, and any horror story of Britney Spears or Hilton or Lohan that do not effect our lives in any real way yet they do serve an integral part of human need and thats is that they give us something to recreationally despise. The depravity and idiocy of the beautiful bourgeoise excites those of lesser income/looks to revitalize their security within their own lot in life.

Agreed.

And I apologize if I misread your point before.

yeah its got my vote too....

Aww thanks.. Well being raised in Europe gives me a different prospective about being rude and whiny.

You would seriously get you @$$ whooped over there for talking like that. I don't get in peoples faces I just tell them politely and if it doesn't sink in then we move on to the alternative method.

It seems to me that people now in this day in age have all their strength in their vocabulary, well yes sometimes words are better exchanged if you want to bury some one mentally, however lowering your self to just swearing to their face is just childish.

And shame on the parents for not raising their children the right way, I see 4 year olds telling their parents to get out of their room because they need their privacy  WTF can a 4 year old do that's so private, they still need adult supervision(if ur not old enough to wipe ur own butt you don't deserve any privacy lol). I understand if you are 12-14-16-18 yea ok, and even then .. I have never told my parents get out of my room or don't touch this, because my parents would be suspicious that I was doing something wrong(not that I was).

Then theres those Very Rich Spoiled Kids on my Sweet 16, I just want to strangle everyone of them!!!!!

You spend so much $$$ on a day that ur child is not even going to thank you for, and at the end of it they tell you they hate you because you ruined everything. I mean What in the world is that for?

Donate it to charity... buy some unfortunate soul a car, or pay for their schooling, ur trowing the money away why not let it go for a good cause.

That's why Oprah Always has.. because she gives.

As for myself, I give .. and i do receive double in return ;)

I am infuriated and disgusted over this story because it gives hot girls like me a bad name.

And I think you wrote this reply because you like the word 'proletariat'. It's okay. It's a good word.

If I was the captain of the plane, I would have spanked them. For real.

you sir, would be getting too much pleasure from such a way of punishing them to do all by yourself...

you'd need an assistant... one with whips and cuffs... and hey.. did i mention I have all this?

Also, i love it when these selfish snobs get a dose of reality and fall appart at the seams, it just exposes just how weak and pathetic they truely are on the inside.
