Dgn Camping Trip JULY 11, 12, & 13th!

As long as it's a weekend I am able to, I am game. Though I doubt Jarod will be.

My brother and I use to go camping all the time. I think it's important for Keegan to camp. I wanted to camp last summer but Jarod was quick to say NO LOL.

For those that know him you have a general idea of why. Just not his style.

BUT I MISS THE CAMPING!!! I WANTZ THE CAMPING!!!

Kay, I'll run a list of campsites by that fit the basic criteria by Saturday. I'm picking Saturday because it gives me enough time not just to research these places but also do it thoroughly.

I'll post then, some choices that I think would be feasable and what we are looking for and let you guys have a say obviously. I would feel like a total asshat just picking solely on my own discretion and having everyone show up there and it ends up not being a great location and/or too expensive or something.

Basically trying to find the best place for the cheapest yet not TOO far, and hopefully with a damn lake of some sort. Hopefully, I wanna swim! Even without a lake though, I'm sure all of us would have fun. By the way it sounds it's like we're starting a Goth Commune out in the woods . Shhh donut tell teh guvemint!

I believe the one that Marblez had gotten was like a $60 deposit. It was in the area southwest of Baldwin and I-75 up in the hills. As I mentioned, it was in the exact cabin that Kevorkian used to help his patients end it. There is another cabin next to it and both reside next to a creepy pond. The place was awesome during the fall though. That is what brought out even more of a creepy mood. Maybe you can PM Marblez for the area and dollar amount info to start out with, then go from there. Usually you will need some money up front from everyone as part of the deposit. Not sure how much it is altogether though. Each person tried to bring what they could for food, drink, music, plates, etc. Good idea for everyone to bring their own TP as well if its a cabin with an outhouse. If its just tents and stuff, I would recommend a campsite with facilities. There might be more of those kinds of places up by Oxford, which is another good remote place to be. I just know that the few years we did the cabin thing was pretty cool and fun was had by all. Even some extracurricular fun was rumored about in the woods at some point lol.

if i can -somehow- get the funds together, when you get a price range, and granted i am here when this goes down (leaving sometime in august), and if one of you lovely DGNers can gimme a ride... i am SO down for this! and Jadnifer, i will be sharing a tent w/ ya, cuz mine's full of holes.. ugh! lol :D

Edit: and if as many ppl go, as you want, cher, when the government looks at the area we are staying in, on satellite, it will look like a part of the map got wiped out, cuz of all the black us goth's will be wearing... lmao....

Even if I could find the time (as Brenda would have to also), I don't think I could get B to go. She has back issues, and feels "roughing it" in involves a hotel in a remote location, all while wearing sweats. A tent isn't her idea of cozy!

Ok, seriously, I can tolerate a crowd of people (more than 3 or 4 is a crowd to me) for short periods of time but then my anxiety starts kicking in. Plus, I have serious issues about my personal space and I know that would get all sorts of invaded on a camping trip.

I'm also a bit of a priss. I need a bathroom and a shower that other people aren't using at the same time. I hate public facilities, and you can kiss my ass with the outhouse thing.

As an update people, don't think I forgot about it, I ended up getting hit with a huge shit-slew of homework/projects due for school at once. Tonight I'm staying home and setting aside sometime to look up more places, like I said we still have quite a bit of time to decide where and when so I'm going to make my search as thorough as I can.

Right now I like the idea of renting a secluded cabin. Tents camping now adays is usually tooo...erm..artificial. How they have people just in rows of tents that you don't even know and, also that doesn't leave much option for people who prefer not to tent camp. So, I think we'll do cabins, because then people can set up tents outside if they want (I mean if you're paying for a whole cabin, I doubt they'll care even if we have to pay a little more), people can pop up their truck-tents if they have such a thing, and then there will be the peeps in cabins.

Depending on the volume of people there should be two cabins, and personally I think that's just a good idea in general because then we can put members with children in one cabin and members without children in another (i.e. us youngins, 'cause we'd be impolite drinking and swearing around your kids).
