What's Your Nickname And How Did You Get It?

Recommended Posts

I don't have one. I just have my real name.

But I was thinking about my one friend...

Most days, he's drunk and high. That's really baseline for him, drunk and high. And this one particular evening, he was drunk and high AND on Vicodin. So, I said 'You're already drunk and high. What does the Vicodin do for you?'

And he took a long, thoughtful drag on his cigarette and said 'Dude. Being drunk and high is like two plus two. Being drunk and high and on vicodin is like two TIMES two.'

To which I replied, 'That's still four fucko'

Ever since then, his nickname has been two times two.

Okay, what's yours?

My ex-husband calls me Bitch. Does that qualify as a nickname

Actually, the only nicknames I have are spun from my name: Suzy-Q, Susie-Quesie, Oh-Susannah, etc. Although, my best friend calls me Princess Spandex, though I'm not sure why. And at work, a few of the customer's call me Network Goddess, but that's only so I'll be extra prompt fixing their computers or networking issues. Suck ups... ya gotta luv 'em!

Really, the only one I have aside from the glaringly obvious is Shade.

I've had that ever since my freshman year of college, when I'd wear my sunglasses outside, no matter whether it was sunny or not. I guess they'd never heard of the idea that ultraviolet radiation can get through clouds, too.

Probably 2 nicknames trough out my life...

When I was little my family used to call me Cuce=Baby piggy, I dunno why it seemed like the youngest members of the family got stuck with that name, then it became Verche (younger version of the name Vera, which is my real name) and still is .. Vera still sounds a bit old to me lol.

All tough I used to come up with the wildest nicknames for my friends ^_^ and strangely enough they stuck hahaha...

Other than my DGN nickname (which is also used in EVERYTHING, cept AIM)

My very first nickname was Michelle.... that's my middle name. Andrea was too hard for most ppl to pronounce. I don't go by it, anymore, but most of the ppl that knew me back then, still call me that. it would feel weird being called Andrea by them, anyways....

I don't know if anyone else did this, but i know when i was in High School, I know that me and my friends, and their friends, hell, anybody that is anybody used a pseudo name, when writing letters. You know, when signing them... Little nick names such as "Baby Gurl" or things like that.... Well.... first was Tiger Eyes, after a book i read, by the same title...

Then there was Butterfly, given to me by the guy i was dating at the time.... then there was The Dark Queen, given to me by a different guy (several years later) he also called me his "Gothic Queen" and what not.... Then when I was 17 i was gonna be a mommy, and i was gonna name the Kid Raven, whether it was a boy or a girl, and at the time I was signing up for AIM... I came up with FireRavenKeeper, then that morphed into RavenKeeperOfOld, which spawned LadyRaven OfOld (inspired by The Mists Of Avalon) and with that, Lady Raven, in her Purest form, was born. I write "as her"... short stories, and what not...

My best friend Sammie, who i call "Sammie Bear" calls me Andry (rhymes with 'laundry'), and my boyfriend has called me Kitten for most of the time that i have known him, even when we weren't dating... He says its from some old Italian mob movie, or something.... idk

I had a boss that butchered my first and last name and came up with "Aundie-ra" <--for pronunciation...I don't know the actual spelling, i mean he used letters from my own name, but i don't know... lol he did that cuz him and his college buddies use to do it, and me, him, his wife, and once other employee were at the shop, bored out of our skulls, and were being silly, so he came up with names for us all... lol i was the only one he still called that, tho... lol oh well.....

Lastly, there is Andie, yes you read that correctly... Andie. like the boy's name 'Andy'... i gave that to myself, because i went back to high school (yes high school) when i was 19. Since most of the ppl that i would encounter were going to be considerably younger than me, Andrea seemed too formal, i guess... Andie was easier to pronounce, and i have grown to love my first name, so i didn't wanna go back to using "Michelle". I still use it...

DGN calls me bean or beanie.

some people call me Rach (shortened version of my first name) - usually only closer friends call me that

in high school, I had a few nicknames: Retch (another version of the nickname Rach..don't remember how that one came about), Daria (the cartoon..remember?), Tits (um, well, you know), Double-D (again, the obvious).

My Boshy used to call me Weazel because apparantly when I was younger I was a perfect blend of evil + sneaky.

When I was a Fourth and Main Corner Kid in Royal Oak, they called me Trenchcoat J (hence that is still my AIM name) because I hated my first name so went by the boy's name Jay (I was also way more of a dude in those times  I've mellowed out a bit, believe it or not) and Trenchcoat because I never took the damn thing off due to how heavy I was. I used it to cover my body because I thought I was nasty and didn't want anyone to see it, however people didn't know that, they just thought I was weird. I mean, I'd be wearing the thing at Dream Cruise in 95 degree heat.

For the record, yeah I still wear one today but not because I'm insecure and I'm trying to cover myself, I wear it when it's cold like I'm supposed to .

Phee...

I have had it ever since I was a baby... my older brother who was 4 called me it, so my parents called me it... we went to the same schools so everyone we knew called me Phee... and then it just was there, more of my identity tied to it then my actuall name... Nobody who actually knows me well uses anything but the nickname at this point, and I don't even have to try...

There are a few DGNers who call me Lilly. That's not my real name, btw, if anyone though it was.

Bah! See now that's just deception right there, young lady! 'Cause we all know my real name is Chernobyl  (sees if anyone buys it) which is why my nickname is Cher .

Speaking of nicknames, since mine is Cher, let it be known that if anyone pronounces it like the singer, Cher, I will kick you and run away . It's pronounced like "Churr", it's only spelled Cher.

Actually Jadnifer and her boyfriend call me Cherny...which is odd, but whatever floats your boat....?

Cherny in russian means black I guess it fits in ^_^

Ha, see? Either way it's a win-win situation for me .

Someone told me that Chernobyl was named after Chernabog, who was the God of darkness/death or something (Ukrainian belief). I don't know if they were talking out their ass, but it seems interesting enough. Found that out because we had a member on here, who doesn't post anymore, named "Chernabog" and way like "Heyyy....wait a minute, that seems just TOO coincidental" so I asked where the name came from.

To make a long story short, all around no matter how you put it or how hard I try to fight it...I am teh evil .

That's what I will call you. It is final, (but I'm gonna say it like George W. Bush.)

I'll make this the short list:

Rev. (I been a Holy Man fo' like... years, so it's like more of a title; but also short for my name.)

and goat ('cause I kinda can smell that bad on occasion, and Pan was always my favorite of the Divine Archetypes.)

Jon calls me "Little Pea." It stems from me calling him "Sweetie-Pea," and since I'm a good foot shorter than him, I'm "little" to him, which I adore. Sometimes I'm "Little One" to him, too.

I also call him "Mooker-pie". We will disgust you in person, I promise you.

Jon is well-known as Otter. He's been trying to get people to use "Lutra" lately because that's his Second Life otter-character's name. I don't care for it, so I refuse to use it. He'll live.

Most people call me Critter. Because most people knew me via DGN before they knew me face-to-face. I like it.

As a child, I was "Cammy" to family. I despise it, and am glad they cut that out by the time I hit puberty. My sister Susan is still "Susie" to most of my family, and it enrages her, but she won't work on making them stop it at this point in her life. I am about the only person who calls her "Sue", which she prefers.

My mother gave us all really, really strange nicknames when we were really tiny. I was binger-bonger. My sister Sue was booberamjit. I don't know what the rest of my sisters or brother were, but they were equally strange.
