Black Sundays plight made me decide to write this.

Late I know but it is better people get this info now rather than latter.

Allow me to start by saying if you live in a northern state it's just common sense to own two space heaters.

#1. Electric

#2. Kerosene

I'm not being facetious, even I have been want for that bit of common sense.

But lets say you dot. What to do?

Lets start of with what not to do.

#1. DO NOT USE YOUR STOVE TO KEEP WARM.

If it is gas you run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning

If it is electric you could cause an electrical fire or get carbon monoxide poisoning a lot slower than gas but it has been known to happen.

Hell don't try to heat your kitchen at all

If you kitchen is big its harder to heat

If it is small it does not have doors so is harder to heat

Start collecting you towels and blankets go to the bathroom.

Spread the towels then blankets on the floor

Look around see an air vent? well cover it up you dot want heat getting out that way.

Look around again, any power outlets?

Well go get a lamp for every one you see, should only be 2-4.

And hey did I mention Fill that bathtub up with hot water?

No hot water?

Now you can use that stove to boil water and fill the bathtub.

Stove not working?

Turn on all the lamps and slowly fill the tub using the not hot hot water valve any way.

A large body of water is a good temperature stabilizer so in conjunction with the lamps It should stay warm enough.

If this does not work for you then pack yourself the towels and blankets in to a closet
