StormKnight (1)
But, being single is not all it is cracked up to be. I want unconditional love....does it exist??? MyOwnSavior
Sometimes I wonder if maybe I'm ment to be single and that there isn't someone out there for me, but those are the darker times. I know I'm just single because I don't want to settle and I know what it is that I want.

Eevee
Just because you're single for any amount of time does not mean that you are meant to be single nor that no one wants you...it just means it is taking a little more time for that right someone to find you. Or maybe it just isn't the moment yet for you to meet.
e-jewell
I don't believe in soulmates, nor do I believe in the heirarchy of needs. I think some people are meant to be single and will live fruitful lives without the addition of a partner. Not because nobody will have them, but because they won't have anybody. Some people just don't want to be with others, and there's nothing wrong with that. These people are usually, very unfortunately, perceived by others as a potential soulmate, which can be kinda fucking annoying.

I hate that people are frowned upon because they 're single or without children, like it's some kind of evil, horrible disease. Soulmate =

n0Mad
I don't mind being single and childless. What are you talking about? Your husband are your books and your kids are your pets. Sounds like the perfect relationship to me.

Or worse, looked at with some sort of pity like I got stood up on a date. I also get the feeling that Torquemada and the Inquisition are going to come out of someone's ass with torches and braziers burning incense, pointing at me and screeching, "Heretic! HERETIC!!!! Make him repent for his sins of singledom. Burn the single heretical man, for he is a sin unto God!" Yes, I know. I am bucking for a lightning bolt to strike me, reducing me to nothing more than a smoking pair of shoes.

Us single folks don't have to eat out alone.

But I love taking myself out on dates. I never have to argue with myself over which parts of the museum to linger in. I always agree with myself over which movie to watch. I always pay my part of the bill and tip enough so as not to embarrass myself. And I take myself for the best drives by the water. Or romantic evenings in. Don't even need the get-togethers. I go out to lunch with my friends all the time, sometimes even just one-on-one. It's a good way to kill an afternoon. Especially going to panera's then hitting up borders for book-shopping... or in your case, husband shopping.

I go out to dinner by myself (with a book too) often. I'm just saying that the DGN dinner get-togethers are good for people who don't like to eat out alone. The sushi night was fun. This time, preferably with a round table so that we can all see each other. Hmmm. I wonder how much husbands run these days.

When I'm done, I often ditch them.
