Hahaha. A what? Whats a dowry? I'm sorta slow.

Basically the reverse of a bride-price. Money, land, livestock, jewelry, troops... with bride-price, the bride's family is compensated for the loss of a productive family member. A dowry is, in essence, the family paying someone to take a daughter off their hands. Of course it's a bit more complicated than that, especially in milieus like the old European nobility where dowries played a huge role in the consolidation of wealth among a relatively small group of families.

No I wouldn't. I'm just afraid she'll hurt me ;) or maybe I'm afraid that she won't ;)

:spank:whip

And I do need to try out my new 6" spike heels on someone.....

So little time, so many young men needing guidance :wink

You were pretty quiet last night. Send me a PM letting me know what I missed meeting wise last night. I was told my name was frequently mentioned.

Basically a gift (usually money or in some cultures livestock, etc.) used to sweeten the deal of marrying the person it is attached to.

I know it wouldn't work for me. Makes me a big target for leaches. :X

I actually had to pay a dowry for my ex wife to my mother in law. I paid less because she was married once before so they saw her as used goods. I could demand the money back due to the fact that she cheated on me and treated me poorly but the mother in law still adores me and shes a sweet little asian woman. Her daughter has broken her heart enough so I wont do it.

Yeah...but there is a chance that may change. My ex got out of jail a while ago and has gotten her life back on track...she ditched me for drugs but now she ditched the drugs so things are looking up. Even if it doesn't work out with us at least she is on the right track now...
