Will You Still Live Life As Usual?

Recommended Posts

Can't help but notice how fast gas prices are going up (they jumped 14 cents over night where I live) so since this hike in prices has no end in sight I've decided that this summer there will be no long driving trips or vacation getaways or in other words I'm cutting out everything I can live without. I like traveling as much as anyone but the cost is becoming to much these days.

Wanted to know how many (if any of you) plan to live life the way you always have this summer or will these gas prices put a damper on your plans?

Less trips out of state to visit my parents & sister. Wouldn't be too bad to go visit my sister, she's only in Northeastern Indiana, my parents on the other hand are in Tennessee.

I still find myself doing a lot of in town driving though. (For example, the club, to visit friends on the east side, etc) Although if gas prices go over $4 I don't see how I'm going to be able to continue to do that. I have a Kia, and it's good on gas, but I still go through a tank quickly with the driving that I do now.

I'm really glad that the eternal and I are getting married this year because the distance we have to drive to see each other is killer. I use almost a half a tank round trip, which is 8 gallons (for my car), and gas is about $3.43...so, yeah.

That will be the only difference. I still have to drive to school and work, and I'm not giving up my vacation.

well I am thankful for the mileage reimbursement pay that I get from work, since I drive my personal truck for work. I actually still make money off of that, even though it isn't as much as it starts out as, when the week is over. My fuel cost is, as you might imagine, high since I have a truck. But then again, I do travel about 4-500 miles a week for work, so its semi-justified. So yeah I will still live life as usual. I'm working on finally getting rid of some other expenses, so once those are gone, it won't be as big of a bite otta my ass for gas in the truck.
