What is everyones take on corsets for men?

I wore one long time ago.

For a Hellbound show I was in.

But that was it.

Other day I some how started talking about it with my friend.

But being the airhead that I am.

I forgot most of the talk. :sofa:

yeah those .. umm.. no..

I have seen where they look good on some men, but the corset effect is SO much more sexier on women.. Women's bodies were supposed to be that perfect hourglass figure. Men are not supposed to have that.

It's just not doing it for me.. and a LOT of things do it, but not that.

If wearing the right kind, and if done properly, i think that a man-corset can be very attractive.... I personally don't think the extreme of that fashion is attractive, and looks too uncomfortable for words.... but in mild cases, yes, i think it could look good. :)

Taken to extreme, tho, with both women and men can lead to all kinds of health risks. Also, if taken too far, the need to wear a corset becomes permanent, because the body will collapse w/o it... :)

Eh...the ones that just look like an elaborate belt are ok I guess, but I don't think men look any better with them than without them.

The ones in the pictures posted...um, no. Not doing anything for me.

I agree, they look much sexier on women's bodies. Though, a corset can look dreadful on a woman, too, if it doesn't fit right, or is laced poorly. Like the ones where they're laced so tight that they push your boobs up into your armpits, or you can see bulges of back-fat protruding through the laces. Not sexy!

I mean for looking good, Not looking like a hourglass :p

Maybe I should had said that (Airhead moment maybe)

Stymie, don't lie.....you wear one every night becasue you're hoping for that sexy hourglass figure! lol (just kidding)

I think a corset on a man that alters their body is sexy due to the fact that I know they are pushing their bodies to an extreme. Having said this, though, I don't think having your liver pushed up to your eyeballs is very attractive, but some male corsets can be visually stunning. I think Fakir Mustafar is amazing for how far he has pushed his earthly vessel.

Anyway you slice it though, women DO look better in corsets!!

Um....NO....just....NO!!! I mean, good grief, first men started wearing ear rings, then mascara, then "man purses", now this!!??? When will it ever end ??? When will some men stop wearing/using women's stuff ??? All of that I just mentioned, I will never use/wear...ever....

uh.. men have been wearing corsets almost as long as women have, maybe even longer... so yeah... sometimes men are the ones that start the trends... remember.... we use to not be so gender conscious as we are now....

Like earrings.

What about Pirates?

Or Indain peoples, men and women did it back then.

And lets not forget corsets used to be part of under wear..

Long ago.

The man purses thing, I agree with you.

BIG no no!!

Closest thing should be a back pack or a wiste pack(if your a rock climber)

But this is just me.

For me, it really depends on the shape of the corset the man is wearing. If men are wearing more of a waist cincher(belt) or a corset that makes thier body look more V shaped I like it. Men don't have the curves to pull off an hourglass shape, well alot of them don't.

Found an article on Fakir Mustafar...fakir02.jpg

"Grandfather" of Body mods...

Ah, Fakir... an inspiration to us all! I completely wore out my original copy of ReSearch: Modern Primitives back in the '80s... in fact my labia piercing was done by someone who was featured in the book. Those Fakir pictures sure bring back some memories...

And... GothicRavenGoddess is right... it wasn't until the 19th c. that flamboyant styles and ornamentation became taboo for males in western cultures. Take a look at some 17th-18th c. fashions sometime... by our standards they look downright effeminate, but were standard male garb at the time.
