The Festival of Fear is now on the horizon!!!

(link to site is below, it won't work if you click the pic~sorry!)

Location: Toronto, Canada/ Metro Toronto Convention Center

Dates: Friday, Aug. 22nd to Sunday Aug. 24th

The Festival of Fear is a FANTASTIC event! I’ve gone for the past few years, and have a wonderful time each time I go. The people are nice, there are a lot of great artists and cool people to meet, and the merchandise is astounding. There are also many activities to do at the convention, such as screening movies, Masquerade Ball, celebrity Q & A’s, and workshops. Some stuff is extra, but a little exploring on the link to the Festival site below will reveal all.

They haven’t announced the ticket prices yet, but a one day general pass is about $30.00 (from what I remember). This gets you access to all of the retailers on the floor, along with getting to meet the celebrities. There are various tiers of tickets available that will get you into different events. The deluxe pass will pretty much get you into anything, including the Masquerade Ball. Prices to be announced June 1.

Some information about this event is currently posted on the site at the link below. All the info should be out by June 1.

I’m definitely going to this no matter what!!! I have three spaces in my car (possibly 4 if my fellow goddess doesn’t go) if anyone would like to join me!! I usually go up Saturday morning, and then come back Sunday. Priceline.com has kick ass rates on hotels in the area. I’ve always been able to find a 5 star hotel for half the price within a 1 mile radius of the Convention Center so that I could just walk to it. After the convention, there are cool clubs in the area to go to~this will be a must!!

I’ll be booking my room, buying tickets, and planning within the next couple of weeks, so if anyone is interested in coming with me, just let me know. We can plan together. Save up your money!! Summing up the charges, I guess I would estimate saving at least $150 for this event for your room (priceline is wonderful, and we can share!!), event ticket, and food. And then there is all the merchandise, so if you want to shop, better save up a little more!!

PM me or post if you’re interested. I’ll be posting here again with any new details, or updates.

Hey, maybe we could get a DGN caravan going!! Whooo-hooo!! Watch out Toronto~ Here comes DGN!!

you dont need a passport until late 2009.....i went over the border couple weeks ago for the air race and was given this info...

Unless you look "non-american" I ALWAYS get harassed by the boarder patrol. It's not to get IN to Canada, it's always getting back.

Jnxxie, You would be fine, but unfortunately people like me, are usually very very scrutinized.

I booked my room for Saturday August 23 through Priceline, and ended up getting a room at The Sheraton, which is an awesome hotel! It's less than a mile to both the convention, AND to the Savage Garden club I want to go to later that night. All within walking distance-YEAH!!!

I haven't ordered my tickets yet, becasue I want to see which one's everyone wants to get. They have various types of passes depending on what you want to do. I'd like to see some movie screenings this year, but its not a must if no one else is interested. One thing I would definitely recommend is to buy your tickets on-line, and then print out your passes. The lines to get tickets at the convention are HORRENDOUS, and you could be standing in line for over an hour!

If we get enough people going, I'll look into getting a van to take us all!!
