Fin
Remember Ultra-man? Used to grace us in Detroit on TV20 when I was a kid. We also used to have Johnny Sokko & his Flying Robot: &, of course, Godzilla. Here he is getting some hot monster love: But my very favorite Detroit TV personality was Sir Graves Ghastly. I still miss that show. Other memories of a pop-Detroit now past?

pomba gira
The Ghoul! Incredible crazy bastard (literally, the show would go on frequent hiatus while he was in psych hospitals)... used to blow up stuff with M80s on the air. Viewers would send in little knick-knacks they'd made for him to blow up. Gawd we loved that show! My brother & I wasted much of our childhood watching channel 50 & 20... we know some episodes of "I Love Lucy" & "Gilligan's Island" line for line. Also the 4:30 Movie on channel 7... for a while they were running Son of Godzilla like every other week. That movie show on Sunday mornings, lot of Abbot & Costello movies. Creature Feature on Saturdays. Then there were all manner of low-budget oddities on channel 9 out of Windsor: Chez Helene, the Friendly Giant, Mr. Dressup, and that weirdo in the treehouse with the talking moose head named Clyde. pomba gira
I used to love the polka dot door OMG hadn't thought of that one in years. Can't really remember anything about it except it was kind of soothingly boring. Zoom & Electric Company were good... especially liked Zoom; the idea of a show with no adults in sight anywhere was really radical at the time.
