Favorite Somewhat Cheesy 80s Movie

Recommended Posts

Favorite would be a tie between The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles (Oddly I never cared much for Pretty In Pink)

Others include:

The Princess Bride

Flash Dance

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Labyrinth

I know there are others, but I can't think of any more right now.

The Breakfast Club-1985

Legend-1985

The Last Unicorn-1982 (a drunken skeleton as the gate keeper was hilarious!!!)

Return to Oz-1985

Dirty Dancing-1987

Sixteen Candles-1984

Pretty in Pink 1986

The Land Before Time 1988

(and NOT in that order)

aww hell, most of the animated movies done in the 80's... and yes, i still LOVE them.....

The Last Unicorn is still one of my favorites of all time, as is Legend. :)

My number one is "Rock and Rule," (Nelvana Studios, 1983) all the WAY..

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_and_rule

Coming in at a close second is "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?" ("Chō Jikū Yōsai Makurosu: Ai Oboete Imasu ka?")

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Super_Dim...emember_Love%3F.

I'm a sucker for a good animated fantasy musical, even if it doesn't fit into chronology of the original mythos.. ;)

These two stories have a very similar climax-- true love and music save the world.

Greatest movie EVER:

The Adventures of Milo & Otis

It MAY be 90'-91', but I believe it's 89' so it still counts. First movie I ever saw in a theater, back when Lakeside Mall actually HAD a theater (anyone else remember those days?)

To this day I still can't figure out how the hell they got a lil' pug dawg on a sea turtle in the middle of the ocean or a kitteh in a box floating down a river. Alls I have to say is that only the Japanese can pull off stuff like that .

OMFG...I can't believe nobody said ET!

I ritualistically watched ET every single day of my life over and over and over and over and over again until I was about 6 and moved on to Beetlejuice. My mom seriously thought something was wrong with my head (and still does...she's always had a hunch that I may have autism but never got me checked out for it, that's what she says anyway).

WTF...wait...we're a goth board and nobody said Beetlejuice...you're all fired

So there, Milo & Otis, ET, and Beetlejuice, hands down.

Also Labyrinth and The Princess Bride...

Damnit...now I can't pick. So those five are my favorite.
