Competing Nights at Clubs

Recommended Posts

actualyl...that would be a hell of a name for a place..."Gothklub"....

Actually I was thinking of Pheemos Video Dance Basement A-GoGo of Darkness... but that works too

I like Pheemos, but it's no competition for Hunobyl 'cause we all know that Chernobyl and I are the sheeznit!

But more on topic..

It could definitely go one of two ways. It will spur people from the east side to be out and about on Mondays.. I honestly think Mondays are really crap days to have a club night, but I've been to Necto, and they're definitely not suffering. Or it will be bad for both places, and both places will die, this will be interesting to find out, but I highly doubt that Necto is going to die anytime soon. They truly have a remarkable night.

I notice the crowd is slightly different from Necto to CC.. the crowd is younger at Necto (I'm guessing it's the college kids who's parents don't know exactly what their kiddies are spending their money on). I am sure that many people go there looking normal for he first time, find out how cool and fun it is to play dress-up and they buy their first vinyl outfit. I think it's great that places like Necto are around to maybe expand the sub-culture, and make it available and open new eyes to the possibilities. But then again, how mainstream is our subculture? (that's another topic altogether).

The concern for Prive that I have is the fact that they're not established yet, and they're not in a "college town" I mean I know that Wayne State is there, but it's not the same like a2. I don't really see CC bringing in the College crowd on Saturdays (not like Necto does), so a draw on Monday may be harder for it. Most people near Detroit have "regular" jobs, and Mondays fall on that "regular work schedule" type of day.

It seems to me that Prive is probably trying to draw more of the "professional" " crowd, don't know how well that's going to fly, (for the reasons above).

Now, I'll be interested in knowing if the Latex Twins will be at Prive or Necto. That's what will define the nights.

Good luck to both, glad I have the opportunity to witness this first hand.

I don't think it's bad to have some good healthy competition.. :) As long as everything is kept fair.

You were given wrong information. We never banned your staff we only kicked her out for the night and said if we caught her doing it again we would ban her. That is why I sent you a priate message the very next day to make sure you knew our policies. I didn't bitch I just told you how we operate. Pehaps it was one of your models who have stepped over the line I'll find out who both of them were.

thanks jinx as soon as you find out send me a private message letting me know and I will take care of it.

I see no problem with competing nights. Jeez, is it such a tragedy if every single person in the scene isn't at the same club on the same night? I think it's nice to have a choice, and, as Phee said, it encourages both clubs to step things up.

Personally I think Monday is a crap night for a club. Nothing against Necto or Prive, but unless I've a request from a friend to come out for something like a birthday, I don't do clubs or bars on Monday or Tuesday nights, it messes me up for the whole week, energy wise. I suppose now that I'm not working I could go out on Monday, but I just don't, because I usually don't have the money for more than one club per week, and I'd rather go out on the weekend. I wish luck to both clubs.
