Originally i was very skeptical about any chance of re-doing this thing would be a worthy effort. Boy was I wrong. The original series was a joke compared to this, some of the best sci fi in existence.

I've been following the series, but as is usual, I hate commercials and also don't like waiting weeks between episodes so I wait for TV shows to be released on DVD. If your new to the show I'd definetly suggest not trying to jump in on any random episode, get the Pilot/Miniseries first and then just rent/dowload the seasons and watch them through.

Honestly I think this is probably the best show on television, maybe the best show period, and I'm quite a jaded viewer and watch a shit load of TVs and movies. The episodes are pretty much movie-quality films, on a TV budget. Acting, Effects, Plot, the whole package. The show is pretty much universally acclaimed by the critics, even critics that genreally are known for their disdain of Sci-Fi love this thing.

The final season (season 4) is not finished airing yet although the first half has. The second half won't be show until "next season" due to some legal BS with that writers strike, even though most of the production is completed.

I found out recently that the show finale will be 3 hours long.

There is also a TV-Movie called "Caprica" in the works and confirmed to be in production which covers the period before the first Cylon war and the start of it, set 50 years before the current BSG timeline, following in part, the early days of the Adama family.

battlestar was good, a lot of plot twists

still i find babylon 5 better, even if it had the sort of no one died type of mindset still. just the story was very in depth with a lot of ideas on life thrown in

No way. Its actually good? Cause I used to love sci fi on tv but lately it has sucked sooo bad....and new series done of old stuff usually sucks the worst....

I was a big Babby5 fan. But this is better. More realistic, better acting, by far better effects/storyline. That is if you like "hard" Sci Fi. B5 was more of the "action adventure". Battlestar, while entertaining isn't a "fun" show, more like Aliens than Firefly, its very gritty.

This is also heavy on the "human drama" aspects. I've heard it described as a dramatic series that just happens to be set in space.

Even people that hate sci fi like BSG.

I on the other hand L-ov-E to wait a week or two in between...I refer to the phenomina as "serial high"...

ie. Dr. Who and BSG are back to back on Friday nights...I'm excited for ALL of Friday afternoon...

Yes I too love BS. I got into it when I was a big huge prego. There was a bunch of them on the Replay ( NO COMMERCIALS TROY YAY!) and I had nothing else to do after the house work was done, my last month of pregnancy. Then I got pissed when I had to wait FOREVER for this last season to start.

I was truly disturbed by the whole Kali incident. (especaily now I have my own child).

But I am with Fin, it shall be Lee with his new position and way of challanging authority

Lee - A bit too predictable and high strung, I mean did everybody the Admiral Adama knows turn out to be one? sheesh...

The President - Possible, she has visions and such... but she gets sick a lot for a cylon

Starbuck - I really think the readers wouldn't take that way out.

Hilo - Again he had a kid with Boomer.... so that is unlikely

honnestly the plot twists where great but after a while they just through me off the show. like where the hell are they taking this show. some people like it, but much like lost, sometimes i remain lost with things like that.

Honestly, what can they possibly do that won't dissapoint a lot of people? I ask that so often, and they never seem to disappoint in four seasons

Hmm.. Saul could be a Cylon.. think about it. He's the MOST human? MOST flawed? heh.. maybe not.

Giaus Baltar is most definitely human.. when he went on the ship that had the disease with the infected Cylons on it, he wasn't affected.. so He's most definitely human. Besides, that type of genius cannot be prevalent in Cylons. It's not "normal" genius, it's insane mad scientist genius. Cylons are machines and a tad more predictable/calculated.

What about Galen Tyrol AKA Chief? He kept questioning it in the beginning, and he did a lot of really stupid shit .. although he has a kid doesn't he? hmm.. that means Kali is a human as well.

Samuel Anders: Fucking HAWT!!!! Too perfect to be human. My vote is that he's a Cylon.. AND he's survived way too much to not be a Cylon? This show is like "Model's In Space" ..

Anastasia Dualla: AKA Lee's wife for a short period of time. (I didn't know they broke up *sniffles*.. I'm not that far yet). She's been very loyal to Adama from the beginning. She's gone against her "family's wishes"... She doesn't have a whole lot of past history they talk about. Could be a Cylon.

Felix Gaeta: Hmm.. too easy. I don't believe he's a skin-job.

Tom Zarek: What about tom? I mean come on.. he's been a thorn in their side from the beginning.. He had no problem executing humans when he was president "secretly". Hmm..

Tory Foster: President Roslin's Aid.. Definitely could be a Cylon. At least in my opinion.. although, she doesn't really have a huge role does she? .. BUT she's definitely in a good position for a Cylon. AND Wasn't she the one who know where the half-Cylon baby and the mother were going? What if she planned them getting killed.. how did the baby survive? Wasn't that a bit TOO convenient??
