Snobbery

I am sick of it.

I have seen good (excellent drummers) ostersized for being too loud, good...different....

Band drummers bring a huge band drum to an hand drum event and NOT get told to tone it down soon enough, good drummers shunned...bad drummers who are not loud told to sit out...just everything.

One drumming is turning into a few snobs that run the show everyone else is told to sit in back well then why have a PUBLIC drumming?

Good drummers who want to do more than just the standard beats...which I, a learner still of different beats... WELCOME, told to leave because they don't want to make waves...? And chase away people who are not so good?

I am happy to stay in my buddy's basement with just 5 of us now learning.

My most awesome drum experience was with an open non judgemental one a long time ago where someone always guided us and all I had was a paper head drum.

This thing of saying to someone who is not drummimg loud, could you sit this out your throwing me off...that is soooo fucking rude.

Or a REAL GOOD drummer asked to leave because he is guiding us TOO MUCH? Hell most of the time its just the same ol beat over and over....all night long....at least he tried to make it better.

Oh then there are the I THINK I AM THE GOD OF THE DRUM and you shall all follow...and said someone(s) is ok...not great but everyone kisses their ass so they get to lead and do no african beats or anything else really its all the same.

And they are so stuck up you can't even talk to them.

Fuck that. Go kiss your own ass I am NOT bending that far except maybe to fart in your face ha!

This is why I am not into LARGE public affairs...run privately...there is usually a clicky crowd at the center...

...trying to have a reason to think they have big balls or more than half a soul...

I like to play the "salt&pepper" parts...counter to the beat...

I don't want to lead circles...they just follow...the kids with the bass drum start pickin' up on my funk...and within 1 minute we're playin' my crazy style of tribal-funk...Great time had by all...(except the bastards who had planned LEAD)

..THEN.!.

I get invariably bitched at for 'showboating'...by the organizers...when they heard me play before...and not invited again.

Jealousy I figure...

I've seen a band 1 step away from a record deal go broke up over it...
