My favorites aren't necessarily "goth".... If sticking to the general "dark, gothy type" movie... (Not necessarily in this order)

10. Ladyhawke

9. Snow White (The creepy one with Sigourney Weaver)

8. Edward Scissorhands

7. Bladerunner

6. Dark City

5. 12 Monkeys

4. Interview with the Vampire

3. Dracula (90's one with Winona Rider)

2. Seventh Seal

and from what i heard it IS scary and very dark... it is dark under the water like that....

Right right.. and he hangs out with those stoner turtles a bit..... hmmmm.... He's alittle too cheerfully colored though.... Maybe trying to be a "happy goth"?

I love David Lynch...

David Lynch is a mixed bag for me. The Pilot episode of Twin Peaks (which was a feature film in Europe) was about the best 2 hours you can watch of anything.

Blue Velvet had some bad dialogue but was interesting enough. Lost Highway had a good premise but it was just boring to me. Wild at Heart was watchable.

The Straight Story was a nice little movie. Elephant Man was good.

The rest of his movies sucked. Mulholland Drive was riddled with inconsistency. Eraserhead was maybe the worst movie ever made. EVER! Yeah I've heard it's good while on acid. A movie shouldn't have to be only entertaining if you're on drugs. It has a huge cult following but I think that's just because it was so weird and people like weird things. WORST MOVE EVER!!!!

Did you know George Lucas wanted David Lynch to direct Return of the Jedi? I am so glad he didn't do it, he would have ruined it like he ruined Dune.

EDIT: Hey Phee you sort of look like David Lynch, anyone ever tell you that? I mean a younger David Lynch that is.

Pixieface your top ten awakened alot of intense emotions in me.

when I saw your number one was stigmata I wanted to have a priest exorcise that from your list altogether.

When I saw number 2 was dark city I wanted to steal you from your husband and we would run away together and have kids with names like Mr Hand and Merdock and we would get them to go to bed earlier merely by raising our hand andsaying "sleep"

when I saw number 3 on your list I was already in the process of filing for divorce.

but then number 4 made me wish I had no hand so I cut attach a chainsaw in it's place and cut up those divorce papers.....and the judge and lawyers too!

By the end of your list I had pretty much calmed down and returned to normal.

anyway I forgot, the directors cut of bladerunner is the best version.  way better than the regular version.

My top 10 "goth" movies list would look something like this. There are probably some other movies that would slip into the list depending on what mood I'm in but for now this is it.

some very good choices here. i agree with most, though im amazed no oen said Metropolis yet :blink

did i miss it? i saw nosferatu and calagari up there. sweet.

what about Der Golem? Das Wachsfigurenkabinett? (different from the vincent price wax figure cabinet IIRC).

Der Student von Prag? Der Müde Tod? M? Der Lezet Mann? (SP?)

hell, alot of the Weimar stuff.
