I think its pretty cool. I saw a test drive of it done on the speed channel, one evening.

I wouldn't want one though. It would probably give your average car theif an auto theft boner.

Actually... I think most car thieves go for popular models that they know they can sell all the parts off of. :

This is data for Michigan in 2004

1. 1994 Dodge Caravan

2. 2000 Dodge Intrepid

3. 2003 Dodge Ram Pickup

4. 1994 Plymouth Voyager

5. 1999 Ford Taurus

6. 2000 Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee

7. 2003 Pontiac Grand Am

8. 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass

9. 2002 Dodge Stratus

10. 1989 Chevrolet Caprice

Yep, insurance is higher on any one of those vehicles in Michigan because of the higher theft rate. It's seriously weird. You'd think they would choose a brand new expensive car over most of those ... but they wouldn't. Mine's actually got a lower theft rating AND, prior to 2007's models, they had an issue with the door, if you smacked it in the right spot, it would open right up.

(Actually the site is a little wrong -- they fixed the issue with the 2007 and later model years)

Lots with bashed door claims, but not an extrodinarily high theft rate.

As for the new Lotus ... Wow. I really like it.
