Why Do You Personally Post Threads On DGN?

When I pose a question in a thread, I do it to make someone think about their personal stance about who they are and what they feel about a certain subject. It may or may not say how I personally feel on the topic. I think the written word has the power to change a persons view or at least enlighten someone into thinking about something in a way they may never have. Apathy is a very dangerous thing and it leaves lives going unfulfilled and wasted.

well...partially because I like to be able to delve into someone mind...and you can do that with threads, depending on the subject matter.

curse of a Marketing student...lol

Honestly I like the subject matter, people, and eclectic variety of personality on here.

I don't like discussing something unless its worth discussing.

"those who speak do not know, and those who know do not speak"

Its nice to have an intellectual discussion from time to time, that is not completely pointless.

I find that here.

I am an extrovert who never gets to see anyone.... therefore if I am going to socialize, share ideas, converse, etc.... this is the way I can do that.

Kinda in the same boat you are.. I can only deal with other people with the military mentality in small doses, and i take all those doses at once during work.. so afterwards, i wanna get to be able to talk to REAL people (preferably people i know from back home) and this is were to find some of them.. though i wish most that i knew would post more.. but eh, they come and go ocasionally.. met alot of new people to chat on messenger though since i been out here so it's all good.

To gain the perspectives of others, and to let the pixies out of my bottle. This forum is socially therapeutic in many ways.

I recently had a discussion with a close friend during which I had the revelation that I "think weird". I'm always curious about how other people think and this is a great way to test the waters, so to speak.

What they said. Most of the time I feel like my thoughts & worldview run at a 90 degree angle to those of most people around me. So it's comforting to exchange ideas with people whom I have SOMETHING in common with. Kind of... OK, I'm never gonna be "normal"... but there are other people who are the same kind of not normal as me.
