Cheerleaders 'sexy' dancing to be banned in TX?

Recommended Posts

Paul Moreno is right, morality does come from home and Church. The House does have better things to do than worry about what is and what isnt sexually "explicit." That is something that the schools themselves should discuss, and not drag it all the way to the government to make a big deal over it.

If they're so worried about 'sexually explicit dancing' why the hell do they even have a cheerleading team? I can see them making the excuse "Well we didnt know it'd get this bad"...... some excuse. The coaches themselves should make the discretion, but if the schools want to fix the issue of dirty dancing, then take it up with the coaches.

And another thing, Sefronia's right too........ it is stupid.

I bet the police will come out on the floor at halftime and handcuff them right in the middle of a pyramid.

Sounds like a plot for a porn flick to me! I'm pretty sure I've seen that one.

umm, if that's an issue, what about the skin-tight uniforms the players wear!? and them always slappin each other on the butt after a good play, etc!? i think they should arrrest the next ball player who touches another guy's butt, cuz it's sexually suggestive!!

Next they can get rid of the Dallas cowwhatever cheerleaders :jamin

I'd love to see the misery that would bring on.

I haven't read the article, but I detest the sexual overtness of some of dancing done by the cheerleaders in High School.

Edited to add:

I had no problem with it when I was in school, but I see it now and think it is too much. The again - I am pro-school uniform too.

I used to live near Austin, Tx. They take their "cheerleading" seriously and its really degrading in the long run. Yet they feel that its a boost of self confidence - Hell put any chic dressed/dancing like that out in some city - Yea their bound to get attention - and the wrong kind at that.

I wouldn't go as far as say ban sports all together. I would just like to know how some "Social fashion" club gets to parade and dance around for no real reason except to possibly "pump" them up in more ways then one... How is THAT related to sports... When did hicking up your skirt ever really motivate progress?

Meh...Just ban sports altogether.

CHEERLEADING IS NOT A SPORT!

All this talk about tight uniforms, butt-slapping, and handcuffing cheerleaders is making me feeling deviant and IMMORAL! Quick! I need my state legislators to save me from my own immorality!

I agree with you, Marblez, the current moves of cheerleading is quite over-the-top. Passing yet another law is not the way to stop it, though. Government-based decisions about 'sexually suggestive', 'art', and 'sports' is a Bad Thing.
