Nota bene: I don't believe that many asians like to be referred to as "Orientals". The Orient is actually Turkey and other 'near east' countries if you know the history of the term. Even then it is more often used to describe things rather than people.

I already know that. :)

About me: I work with a bunch of Japanese & Chinese people. The thing is, engrish.com does not *just* have Japanese and Chinese "engrish." There are also many Korean (and possibly other) forms of engrish on there as well.

If I had said it was only Japanese & Chinese, then someone would have said, "but there are Korean things on there too, not just Japanese & Chinese."

So my attempt at using the term "oriental" was to encompass ALL forms of Kana from the far east that do NOT look like our romanized letters.

I think "asian" is the more "correct" catch-all.
