Cosmetic Surgery

Recommended Posts

If you could have any cosmetic surgery: dental, liposuction, rhinoplasty, body sculpting, breast augmentation.. anything and price wasn't an issue. What would you get done? Personally, I feel some celebrities take things a bit too far. I have toyed with the idea of plastic surgery but I am not sure I would be able to accept what I had done to myself, especially when I will no longer look the same out of pure vanity.

I'm not really sure what it says about a person who goes under the knife and completely changes their entire look. If it fills some psychological need they may have. Anything can go wrong. You could end up worse off than where you originally began prior to your transformation. My mother is getting some cosmetic surgery, so I have been thinking about it lately. I want to try to age gracefully and not be too vain about my appearance as the years pass.

I don't think people who have plastic surgery have anything necessarily wrong with them. I meant more so people who get one surgery after another trying to achieve ultimate perfection. I'm not sure it exists.

Laser skin resurfacing, and dental implants would be my choices of procedures. Nothing too drastic.

I will remain as young-looking as my pocketbook permits. Call me vain, but I cannot bear the thought of everything heading south, without fighting the good fight.

P.S. I could use a bit of Botox, too. The "divorce line" I've had for a couple years now is getting deeper.

dental, and I'd get extensions on my eye teeth... and once i lost the belly fat, I'd get a tummy tuck. after i had my children.

and because of the PCOS, i have extra body hair that is getting out of hand, I'd laser it all off... though I plan to do that anyways....

I'm a girl, i shouldn't have so much body hair!!!!

My mother is getting some cosmetic surgery, so I have been thinking about it lately.

This reminds me of my friend, Jack. His mother had a breast augmentation, a really, really noticeable breast augmentation. And I remember the first time I saw her after the surgery, Jack gave his mom a hug and then he whispered to me 'Every time I do that it's another year of therapy'

HA!

It's true, you look at some of these celebrities and say "what the fuck were they thinking? I hope they sued whatever hack did that to them!"

I would have some scars and hyperpigmentation lasered off. Dental implants, altho I don't know if that counts as purely cosmetic since, as it stands, I can't really chew much having no back teeth left.

What I really want is to get my ears trimmed into elf points. And I'd love to have a tail, but only if they could wire it into my nervous system so it was actually functional. Don't think that's doable now but ten years down the road, who knows?

I've had alot done actually. I'm not telling what. LOL (and no, none of it was vanity, it was all medically necessary, but turned out to also be somewhat cosmetically enhancing.) If I can ever get my health and thus my weight under control, I would love to get a tummy tuck and thigh lift. Laser hair removal would be pretty nice too.. on my whole body.

I'd so get a nose job but just the thought of HOW they do that gives me the jibblies.

OMG, jibblies.

That word rules. :p

I would get my bottom teeth done, to match the top ones. Glad i had the top ones done. :)

I'd get some lipo, and a breast reduction. DDD's are HEAVY. My back hurts. :p

I would never get my face changed. I like my face.

I had one, to correct a deviated septum, but same diff. It was HELL. I've been through a world of medical hell, and seriously, recovery from teh nose job was the worst thing. Ever. Be advised. LOL

I would get some work done -- but nothing that would be noticeable. Nothing appearance-wise.

I wish there was an insurance that covered elective surgeries. Most of what I need done, the insurance classifies as elective and doesn't cover.

I would definitely get Lasik or whatever they're doing to eyes these days... but I honestly don't feel that should be considered "cosmetic". If I were in some disaster situation and lost my glasses I would be pretty much helpless. I can think of all kinds of situations where my poor vision could endanger my survival... so vision correction is really something insurance should pay for.

Amen to that. The surgery is, as surgeries go, not even that expensive & would improve the quality of life for a LOT of people. Screw you, BCBS!

I'd like to have a mole or two removed, if that counts. Possibly lasik, though the idea of it still kind of creeps me out.

I'd like to lose weight/tone up a little, but if I had the money I'd just hire a trainer to help me do it. Liposuction is too painful/risky for me to ever consider it, and you couldn't pay me to have a tummy tuck. Too many horror stories from working next to a plastic surgery clinic, not worth all that pain, hassle, time laid-up and scarring for a cosmetic procedure.
