Clothier/Seamstress/Tailor/Costumer Wanted

I want a pair of hakama but the traditional Japanese ones have some features that I don't like. For one, the backboard. I want to wear these around all day and I don't see how a backboard would be all that comfortable. Second, the side vents. I'd like to wear the hakama as daily wear with normal shirts, t-shirts, and the like. The side vents expose too much hip and I don't want my underwear showing. Finally, the price can be kind of expensive.

So, I'm looking for someone who has mad design and sewing skills to make me some. I would like both the split-skirt pant style, and the non-split skirt style. Depending on the price of material and labor, I'd also like a few different colors. I also found a couple sites with patterns and many sites with pictures including one site that makes some pretty sweet ass "cargo" hakama.

Anyway, let me know if you feel qualified and are willing to undertake this project for me. Thanks.

not to try to out do nienna but i don't think i'd need a pattern for that sort of thing. It's a pretty basic skirt, especially since you're a guy and you don't need an adjustment for curvature of the hips.

let me know if you'd like to have me make one for you (and ya that cargo hakama thing looks pretty cool)

is there anything besides the vents and backboard that you would like to change about the design?

I've been so busy with other things I forgot about this until I was chatting with Nienna a while ago at CC and she reminded me. So, I ordered some patterns and I'll have her make me some. I do appreciate your offer as well livininxtcgoth so if you're still willing to make something for me I'll float some business your way.

I don't know. You'll have to talk to Nienna. She and I are going fabric shopping when the patterns come in and I'm covering the cost of all that. We haven't talked about a labor rate yet.

Are the patterns size specific or do they allow it to be made in multiple sizes? I'm pretty sure I'm a fair bit bigger then your skinny ass. :p

I'll talk to her when I get home.

What kind of cloth are you thinking of using?
