School in shock after 'Satanic' slaying

Johannesburg - Wielding a Ninja sword, a matric pupil allegedly involved in Satanism killed a 16-year-old boy and stabbed two workers at a Krugersdorp High School on Monday morning.

His younger brother grabbed the sword after he had thrown it to the ground.

"Wat nou, meneer? (What now, sir)," he asked the school principal after the incident, which occurred just before school assembly at Nic Diederichs technical high school.

Police spokesperson, Captain Jacob Raboroko, said he did not resist arrest.

"He was very calm when we arrested him in the staff room," said Raboroko, declining to comment on reports that he was high on drugs.

Satanism, drugs

The boy had painted his face black and wore a black balaclava, resembling the drummer of the band Slipknot, said Krugersdorp councillor Alex Raubenheimer, adding: "He said Satan told him to kill the children."

Raubenheimer also said that there were reports from witnesses that the boy had abused drugs.

Raubenheimer, who interviewed some of the school children, also said the police had confiscated dope from some pupils, but this could not be confirmed.

Community leader, Pierre Eksteen, who is in charge of a school support network for children, told reporters outside the deserted school grounds that Satanic music was probably the cause of the attack.

"He came here camouflaged as the guys from Slipknot. We know the wrong kind of music, and drugs have bad effects. Young people need to be informed of the effects of bad Satanic music," said Eksteen.

Toy hand grenade

The matric pupil stabbed and killed the 16-year-old grade nine pupil before stabbing two gardeners who were taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Another pupil suffered an asthma attack after witnessing the killing.

The police said they found a toy hand grenade on the school's premises.

The school, which has suspended lessons for the day and did not allow journalists and photographers onto its premises, said it would release a media statement on Tuesday.

Local residents had started laying bunches of flowers outside the school gate.

The matric boy was in police custody and would appear in court within 48-hours.

Slipknot's debut album, which was released independently in 1996, was called Mate. Feed. Kill. RepeatM. Subsequent albums were released through studio deals. The band's fourth studio album, All Hope Is Gone, should be released this month, according to the online encyclopaedia Wikipedia.

as you can imagain this is causing quite a stir over here. all the so called christian youth leaders are now bashing any type of alternate or metal music they can think of saying its 'Satanistic'. the idiots couldnt even get there facts straight. if i rember corectly Slipnots drummer has his face painted white and not black and as for some of the other facts the journalist in this article came up with he must have pulle them from his rear end.

It never fails to amaze me just how fast a certain type of music gets blamed when teenagers go fucking nuts. Manson got it after the Columbine school shooting. Ozzy has gotten it many times. I'm not sure why, but somehow it's the fault of the artist that the kids were high/picked on/or just plain nuts when they did something stupid. Because you know the drugs the kid was on had absolutely nothing to do with this...*note the sarcasm*

It is NOT the music's fault or the musicians' fault that guy killed those kids.

Hello!!!!!??? He was on DRUGS!!

Obviously this guy didnt have a good upbringing, because if he did, its possible that he wouldn't have gone down the wrong path in life and led himself to get fucked up on drugs and kill people.

I truly abhore it when parents do a shit job of raising their kids, and then when their kids turn into juvenile delinquents or criminals and commit crimes, their parents, pass the buck, and blame the music that the kid listens to, or the musicians for their shortcomings as a parent.

Blaming other people for someone elses actions has always been a way to escape responsiblity.

Its just sad that people blame music for their actions. If I was a judge I would have that idiots head chopped clean off. I would have anyones head chopped clean off for blaming music for their crimes/mistakes. Why? If your dumb enough to listen to music and believe it directed to you personally to commint haneous crimes then you dont deserve to live.

well....even without drugs....music is a very powerful influence...but listening to music ON drugs...COMPLETELY changes the scope of the music and what your hearing.

however...I find it fucking funny how a bunch of posers.... :jamin ...LONG LIVE MUSHROOMHEAD!!!.... :jamin get blamed for a henious, drug induced act such as this.

can anyone tell me WHY people associate metal, hardcore, and so on with murder? i mean, if someone acted out the lyrics of a cannibal corpse song, i can see how the authorities would get a lil cranky. however, that's just not the case. it honestly baffles (and really really frustrates) me.
