e-jewell
I just don't get why people care that they're single. It doesn't register with me that people would actually feel the need to have a romantic partner. You have a hand, a brain that knows your greatest pleasure zones, and friends who won't get bitchy if you don't call them every day. Idk. Just cold and heartless, I guess. Masturbation is like being married to a partner that will fuck you any time you want, but in only one position: Reliable but not very exciting after a while. And I'm sorry, but there's an electricity when it's someone else doing the touching. Whatever it is that they're using to do the touching. And that's just the sex. Yeah, some days (Many) I just want the freedom to do what I want and to live life without constantly discussing schedules, etc. On the other hand... I find great satisfaction in deep conversation and going on adventures with a partner that I know and trust. Right now I'm more on the doing my own thing side ... that will change sooner or later. As for rejection... what's with flaky people that change their mind about how they see you just before it's time to meet? *shrugs*

candyman
Rejection used to suck but now I am used to it....sometimes I ask a girl knowing full well what her answere is just to hear what they say....I should try looking in a mirror sometime... My friend Matt is 28 and has never been with a woman...he has two girls that he calls friends but thats it...he lives by the law that women are like parking spots...they are whore and liars Thats his view but mine is different...I really don't give a shit who or what you are...unless its really that bad...and I seem to attract those kinds of girls

e-jewell
Those of you wanting one aren't really young and stupid, though. With age of course it's a possibility. But IMO, anyone under 25 really shouldn't get emotionally involved with others. Once you reach a point where it's no longer the inability to find someone, but the disinterest in doing so and a general lack of want for anybody at all, you achieve that crucial state of independence and focus that's necessary at a young age. I think at around my age people should work on becoming their own person, and fulfilling their own goals. Too often I have seen friends transformed by a partner, for the worse. When you aren't confident and independent enough to mantain your identity, even the sweetest of relationships is nothing but a burden you won't realize until it's too late. So to those young'uns hung up on being single. Stop caring. If masturbation gets boring then get drunk and have unattached intercourse with people. If you feel like nobody loves you call your mother. Every aspect of a relationship has decent substitutes elsewhere. I find video games work well for killing passion in humans. I don't even answer my phone for people. I check my texts maybe once a day, if that. Why? Because I just don't care. I don't need, nor for the most part want, relationships with people. I'd rather spend my free time relaxing and avoiding the drama. I say these things because since losing interest in a relationship I've become MUCH MUCH MUCH happier, and the people I know with the same view as mine are the same. Find a hobby or distraction and work on shaping who it is you are.

Find a hobby or distraction and work on shaping who it is you are. Have fun with that. I personally relish my passion, and love my life. I am a very happy person and life is damned good. If I tried to live your way, I would just become braindead. I'm not knocking it for you - to each their own. But if I were in that situation, telling myself that, I would be merely mistaking lack of emotion for happy emotion. Video games over passion? Please, someone shoot me first. Passion is life. Life is passion. Humanity is passion. Life is passion, or it should be, and if it's not, I don't want any part of it.

Find a hobby or distraction and work on shaping who it is you are. I already know who I am for the most part...we are never done learning so nobody can say for sure. My problem is that right now even just a friend would be nice. I went from living close to all my friends and all my clubs and rock shows to this college. It has only been a few months but there is nobody to talk to in person, I am not even close to being friends with the people on my floor as cool as they are to hang out with, and there is nothing to do at all. The TV barely works and my X-box is shot...my computer needs to be fixed in order to play video games, and all the places within an hour require you to be 21, I am not, and even if I could get in they suck balls anyways...even the strip clubs are usless because an ordinance says that they cannot strip! Now I do have my music and it is a big part of my life but...I can't just listen to music all fucking day when not in class...not to mention that I only have two speakers each the size of a 12 pack of soda. Kinda lonely here...i've already done the 12 hour round trip to see my friends a few times...and even just asking for a friendship seems difficult. Yeah...I get rejected for being FRIENDS! WTF?!?!? But on another note to steer the topic of this thread further.. what gives video games the most play value next to being good is because of friends. But, I also think that a lot can be learned from dating and being in relationships. We all make mistakes and date people that aren't good for us at times, but hopefully we can learn and take something from those experiences. Unfortunately, some folks never learn, and that is a tragedy.

Saying you should never have a relationship until you know yourself is like saying you should be home-schooled, and I think it would have a similar effect. (I'm not a big proponent of home-schooling.) You may end up smarter and more knowledgeable than others in some areas, but you won't be able to form strong human relationships. You won't be able to evolve in the human field. You might be the best at Tekken or whatever...but there's more to life. There's more to school than just learning maths or reading literature. There's more to a relationship than just finding the one you will eventually marry and spit out some little ones with. ::grabs popcorn from Marc and throws it at him::

Brenda Starrr
I'm feeling rejected from a relationship of a different kind. It's my job. You see, Pam has been with the spa since they opened over 2 years ago. That makes Pammy #1. I come along, and therefore I am #2. Pam gets booked BEFORE me, leaving me with the leftovers. If I'm lucky, I get booked solid as well. Apparently, I get no love. Pam is booked solid tomorrow. Even overlapping a bit. Not I. Oh no. No financial love for me. Not only do I get fucked, I get lied to. We don't do acrylic nails at the spa. We do gels. I decided to introduce ODORLESS acrylics. THEY DO NOT STINK. AT ALL. Pam does not want me to make money, and doesn't like acrylics. So, she complained to our spa manager, who proceeded to make me feel MORE rejection by making up a story about how the dental office downstairs complained about the smell... WHAT FUCKING SMELL??? They're ODORLESS. I found out that our spa manager made this up because our receptionist was in the room when Pam complained. I get the leftovers. I get lied to. It's rejection through and through. I will never be #1. In 6 weeks, that will all change. Rejection sucks.
