A day of canoeing, anyone?

Recommended Posts

Just thought I'd throw this out there..

I live a couple miles away from Heavner's Canoe Rental in Milford. Canoes are only $20 for an entire day, and you can fit three comfortably in each (plus a reasonable size cooler).

Anyone have a few extra bucks, and the ambition/adventurous spirit/free time to go? :) I have absolutely NO plans for the weekend, so I'm hoping to find at least a few more people who are in the same boat..yes, that was supposed to be a funny. *rimshot*

I love canoes myself. Just not sure what I was going to do this weekend after I move everything into my house. Not even sure if I have help to move stuff to the house yet either so it may take me awhile. Hoping to hit Renfest this weekend at some point too.

When are y'all going? Sunday or Monday?

I'm not sure..I was thinking either/or, depending on how many others I can find to go, and what day would be most convenient for everyone.

P.S. Here's another thing I hadn't considered before, but I was thinking about last night; it's been awfully droughty the past month or so. I wonder if there's even any decent of a river to canoe on? I don't want to be portaging constantly, like I had to last year!

Monday I can probably do. Sunday ... possibly. I really won't know until tomorrow or even last minute on Sunday.

Yeah, that's what I plan to do-- get drunk, sunburnt, and have a gay old time. I love how that dam has the portage rollers, so you don't have to hump the canoes all the way 'round it. Sure saves my back!

I just found out canoes cost more to rent, now. They've upped the price to 30 or 40 bucks. That's CRAZY! I think I'm going to start scoping out Craigslist for a used canoe for future use. Rental prices are skynormous!

Does anyone here have a canoe for sale?

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.
