Be honest with yourself and walk through this mental exorcise with me...

First we have stigmata and now an exorcism? This thread is turning ... Catholic.

lol

Sorry to have a laugh at your expense but I just couldn't pass it up. Plus I have to be fair and pick on both sides you know. :) Proper spelling is, "exercise".

ok...I'm going to make this as clear as possable, to try and forego anymore confusion. I am really tired of saying one thing over and over...and everyone seeming to think it is something else.

It is NOT my opinion that this country is not ready for a female president because of the majority of American's social psychology. I think we can all agree that all of the entertainment industry branches have many more roles that feature women in the categories I mentioned before, many of those rolls popular. Even the more positive roles have large sections within them that feed back to one, if not more, of those categories.

Now, with every recent movie of Angelina Jolie running around half naked; Courtney Cox playing a manipulative, power hungry company CEO; many of the straight men in America thinking of Jessica Alba in her cowboy stripper outfit while they jack-off; the fact that facials are the most searched for sex scene in the porn industry; and much...MUCH...more....along how influential the entertainment industry is in our modern society....and the social stigmata that women have had for far too long....it makes the chances of a female President in out near future very slim to nihil. I don't like it....I don't even approve of it...but it's there....I didn't make it...it's not an opinion....its a social fact.

Um, I'm referring to the following statements in which I'm directly quoting you:

"What I'M sick of is that Gaf, you, and the rest of your "following" aren't using any common sense...and are hypocrites."

"Ohhh...I see now...thanks...YOUR opinions, and the opinions of the rest of your troop that have a lack of compehesion skills.....THOSE opinions are ok and are EXACTLY how this country is....but when someone makes statements based on FACTS from the social psychology of this country, and what is currently presented in much of our entertainment (which, in case you didn't know...holds a good amount of influence to what the American Public thinks, and therefore effecting their descisions)...you try to make it look like their trying to hit a pin'ata with a screwdriver."

Anyway, all aboard the Gaf bandwagon--yeehaw!

You have an opinion that you come to based on your observations in life. So do I. I think that the USA is just as ready for a Female President as they are a Black President. I actually think they are more ready for a Female.

Be honest with yourself and walk through this mental exorcise with me...

Create, in your head, two worlds.

Each exactly like this one.

World A has a Female President of the USA.

World B has a Black Male President.

who gets shot first?

so wait...your saying that your stance is partially based on who may get shot first??...and that your insinuating that the black president will get shot first......sound racist to me....actually...sound alot more racist then anything I have said ever sounding sexist.

Your going to sit there and say that a black man can't try and become president because he'll get shot??....

wow, Gaf....just wow....I never thought you would stoop so damn low.

Can you follow a conversation?

You are said the USA is more ready for a Black man as President than they are for Woman of any color. I disagree and say that I think the USA is more ready for a Woman as President.

you gave your reasoning... which amounts to "the media says so, so it must be".

I am asking you to do a mental exercises that will demonstrate which the USA is ready for... Nothing racists about it. It does on the other hand show that Racism is a far more dominant force int his country than Sexism.

Answer the question. Which one gets shot first? Whats more a more dominant force? Racism or Sexism?

BTW. I oppose Obama because he is a socialist, not because he is Black.

I did follow the conversation, and you have insisted that Obama....or any black person....couldn't become president because, according to you "they would get shot first".

who says that between assassination attempts, that is not the first female president that gets shot first??

And I'm not so sure that you aren't against Obama for the fact that he is black.

You say your against Biden, yet I have made several mentions of the fact that you have posted little to nothing of his "scandals". I have even made mention of making a thread to it. You have yet to do so....why is that?

One could say that it is because of his skin color....it would be as easy a conclusion to come to as why some of the people here think I oppose Palin.

If you were really paying attention to what I said, you will notice that I said our modern entertainment industry...I did NOT point out the media itself, which is only part of the entertainment industry. It's bigger then the media....much deeper then what media alone could do.

as for your "mental exercise", I'm not playing that game because it is a trick question that can't be answered...there are too many factors in play.

As for what is more dominate.....neither is the more dominate force. Sexism and Racism have been around for the longest time recordable. While it can be pointed out that Racism had more of a visiable impact on our country, it can equally pointed out that Sexism has had more of a hidden effect that has been around in our country longer...so they tend to weight each other out.

So yes, Gaf....I'm going to spin the table right back on you and say that, maybe, you don't realize how racist you are....

Wow. it's very hard at this point to answer you without being insulting. So I am going to try to do my best here...

I have not ever said that black person could not be president because they would get shot. There are others on the board that have said that, and I have agreed it is a good possibility because Racism is so damn prevalent in some areas of the country. I have not said one negative thing about Obama that has to do with his race. I have problems with him as a person, the color of his skin doesn't matter to me.

I have also clearly stated that my opposition to Obama is rooted in the fact that I believe him to be a Socialist with no clear idea of how to govern.

As for Biden, I don't think I have said that he was involved in any scandals... I said his daughter was/is a drunk and has a tendency to hit cops (thats public record btw). I said his sons have been involved in some shady business deals. I have not said Biden was involved in any scandal, though I could bring up that fact that he was caught plagiarizing a speech back in 88 and was forced to drop out of the Presidential race because of it. I could bring up the fact that he has a tendency to speak when he should shut up...

You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking." -- Joe Biden, speaking to Indian-Americans
. a criticism from his own party leaders. My opposition to Biden is two fold though... 1. He's a Blow Hard partisan and we don't need that. 2. naming him as VP goes against Obama's message of Change.

It's not a trick question. I am not asking you to answer for anyone but yourself. You wont answer it because you know that your answer will not support your side of the argument.

As for how racist I am? I know exactly how racists I am. I have issues with Mexicans. I admit that. I do my utmost to overcome those feelings and never let them show. I have no real problem with Arabs but I have a deep mistrust of Persians (and they are white).

Can you be that honest?

and Racism is not as old or as wide spread as sexism. Racism is relatively "new" and almost uniquely European in comparison to sexism.

and Racism is not as old or as wide spread as sexism. Racism is relatively "new" and almost uniquely European in comparison to sexism.

and here is the answer to the punchline, Charlie Murphy....SLAP!!!

I never said that Palin, or any other woman, CAN'T run the country because of their gender. In fact, I claimed several times that my problems with her are her choices, not her gender.

However, despite this, you and several others have insisted that I am a sexist.

Now, once you are accused of making a racist statement, and even after you ADMIT to being a racist against other skin colors, your not a racist when it comes to Obama. Because there is NO way that you let your racist mindset against a few races of color run off at the mouth, right? Pardon me if I an inclined to find that "fact" about you rather suspect.

As for Racism not being as old or as wide spread as Sexism...and that it is relatively new and even anywhere close to being unique to Europe shows that your only visual knowledge on the subject has much to be desired. Racism has been around just as long as Feminism....and is dominate in may societies. How about Egypt and the rest of Africa??....or Egypt enslaving the Hebrew people, or the subtle racial differances that sparked the racism in the middle east that still stands today, or the early relationship of Thailand and China....or China and Japan.....or the Mongols and China....or the Aztecs and the Incas, or Mayans....or different tribes of American Indians against each other, because they all considered each other a seperate tribe and better then the rest...thats a form of racism.

I am starting to wonder what you know about the history of racism beyond the last 200 years.

and it is a trick question....you asked which would get shot first...and honestly...there are two many factors to decide...but the way you posed the question was done in a way that a black president would most definately die in office because of his skin color...and thats racism....and the way you posed the question was racist....and you have even openly admitted that your racist.....so I don't see what your trying to really prove here.

You admit to being an open racist, and are possiably closet sexist, that accuses me of being a sexist because I made a social psychological statement on how near we are to having a female president based on the facts. You have admitted deep dislike of someone because of skin color, and because of that, Anyone is inclined to believe that you hold some form of dislike against anyone that isn't you skin color, or even your ethnicity...(btw...racism covers ethnicity as well...so jsut because the Persians can be considered white doesn't mean jack...Persians also have a largely variating skin color...as I have met some pretty damn naturally "tanned" Persians.)

so...is it true that you have no problems with the color of his skin??...is it ONLY his politics??...and can you honestly even be sure, after admitting your own racism....

I've been true to myself...and to everyone here.....but I don't think your ready to do the same.

There is nothing in my question that sugest which would get shot first. Nothing. You answer does show your racism though. How... because nothing in the question leads to any answer over the other, but you just admitted that YOUR thought process only leads to the Black man getting shot. Did it occur to you that there was a third option, that noone would get shot?

So, your racists and sexist... just a bit more of a racist than a sexist. You are on the road to recovery now. Admission of a problem is the first step in over coming it.

Don't be a fool and deny you have racist feelings... everyone does to some extant. Some of us see whats inside ourselves and try to change it. Some deny it's there and let it fester.

honestly....what are you smoking and why aren't you sharing???

Are you this ignorant that your going to try and accuse someone else of racism because you don't like being called one.

and it IS a trick question...because if I would have said the female...you would have called me a sexist...and if I would have said the black man...you would have called me a racist earlier.

nice try, Gaf...but your spin doctoring doesn't work on me...did you forget that I have a Masters in Business Administration, and that I specialize in Economics and the Human Psyche..a.k.a Advanced Marketing??...your "lemme see if I can trap him" bull doesn't work on me.

and now EVERYONE is racist to some extent??...ohhhh....what till that hits that fans....your done...

The fact that she named her children Bristol, Willow, Piper, Track and Trig makes me wonder about her decision making skills. Especially the boys names. Track and Trig? How many times have/will those kids get mercilessly teased?

She is a republican... therefore can avoid the public school system and "liberate" any of the bullys that might pick on their kids, tap their parents phones and make them disappear for the cause of "freedom"

(Yes I am kidding)

Track got the name because he was born during track season which she participated in, Bristol is named after Bristol Bay Alaska where the dad has his commercial fishing business, Willow is after Willow Alaska, Piper is named after a bush plane due to the fact Sarah Palin is a pilot, and finally Trig means "strength" in Norse. I think trig is a very fitting name personally since the little guy has down syndrome.

Furthermore, why does it matter what a person names their kids when it comes to what they stand for in politics. I'm sure you're parents had a special reason when they gave you your name, so why can't the Palin's?

I think that the USA is just as ready for a Female President as they are a Black President.

+1

I have long & optimistically hoped the U.S. was ready for both/either. It has always seemed unconscionable that people other than white males have not had a stake in the U.S. executive branch. Until now.

Fin's a guy. Met him at City Club several times. Really nice, great guy all around, and even looks good in eye liner. He and I may disagree politically but I still like him as a friend and more than willing to fly wing man with him to pick up chicks.

Why thank you, good sir! *bowing deeply*

Mine told me I was going straight to hell - clearly, she did not know that my adulthood would be so well travelled and I would actually make many, many stops on my way.

By the way, even though she lied you still can't kick her. Because her body is actually made out of titanium.

I don't think you realize how bad you have made yourself look.

Gaf....according to public opinion...and my mother, who is much more qualified to be asked anything on history then you.....your statements are severely ignorant.

I presented your notion of racism being severely younger then sexism and predominately European in nature. I presented this notion to 4 African Americans, 2 Caucasians, 2 Asian Americans, and 1 Hispanic.

There were 2 females, and the rest were males.

9-0 in favor that you need to go read a book, because you have no idea what your talking about.

I also presented your "everyone is racist" statement....5-4 against....

you need to stop talking.....specailly about things you know very little about....or have a completely spoon-fed view of.

Dude, go study ancient Greece, Egypt (Like when the Pharaoh's were all Black), Rome and medieval Europe. Skin color was not a major factor.

Heres a start

Race: Is It a Valid Issue?

racism INCLUDES differances in ethnicity....not just skin color.....so that essay or whatever that you linked to needs ALOT of work, because the author fails to mention several bits of history...like the Egyptian Slavery of the Hebrews, or much of anything on the Oriental front....or the south american native wars among tribes because of ethnicity and beliefs....

also....here is some reading material for you

"Judeophobia: Attitudes Towards the Jews in the Ancient World" by Peter Schafer

"The Invention of Racism in Classical Antiquity" by Benjamin Isaac...I would recommend this more then anything

"Classical Slavery (Studies in Post-slave Societies & Cultures)" by Moses I. Finley

thats just to toss out your "there wasn't racism in ancient Rome, etc, etc" statement....

There is a large body of work out there that dismisses possabilities of racism in the ancient world, but thats because they try and work off as racism at it's simpliest, modern term....person of a different skin color, when in actuality, it is skin color and/or ethnicity.
