I'D

HIT

IT

that's not saying much...you'd hit the broadside of a barn if there was a hole in the wall.

as for his pick....McCain is hoping to regain footing in a loosing battle...so he picks a woman...HOPING to get in on the female voters...He isn't doing this because of her track record, her personality, or her policies....he's doing it because she has a vagina.

He knows that with a white male canidate, Barack holds all the cards when it comes to the words "historical" and "ground-breaking". Those words WILL mean that much in this election.

He can't nominate a black republican, because then it would seem like he is trying to feed off of Obama's

race....and that would be the peg that sinks the battleship.

McCain...for this choice....just to play the politics and hope to gain some ground, just because your not "contriversial" enough...I hope you loose by a landslide.

I actually had respect for McCain because I thought he wasn't going to play this game....good job, John....you failed at "Monopoly"...I can't wait to see Obama run you over.

you know thats a photoshop job?

lol....doesn't make a differance to some ppl...and it will end up hurting him....even if just a little....

OMG...We're fucking screwed

PAlin

McCaIN

PAIN......

we're fucked.....

but...lets get back to Palin herself....a woman that has a track record of making public descisions based on her personal wishes.

1. "On July 11, 2008, Palin dismissed Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan and offered him a position as executive director of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, which he turned down.[50][51] Her power to fire him is not in dispute, but Monegan alleged that his dismissal may have been an abuse of power tied to his reluctance to fire Palin's former brother-in-law, Alaska State Trooper Mike Wooten, who had been involved in a divorce and child custody battle with Palin's sister, Molly McCann."

"She also took disciplinary action against one member of her staff who had mentioned her and Wooten's family connection to Monegan's staff.[55] In August 2008, a bipartisan panel of the Alaska Legislature hired Steve Branchflower to investigate Palin and her staff for possible abuse of power surrounding the dismissal."

2. "When on June 6, 2007, the Alaska Creamery Board recommended closing Matanuska Maid Dairy, an unprofitable state-owned business, Palin objected, citing concern for the impact on dairy farmers and the fact that the dairy had just received $600,000 in state money. When Palin found out that the Board of Agriculture and Conservation appoints Creamery Board members, she replaced the entire membership of the Board of Agriculture and Conservation.[22][46] The new board reversed the decision to close the dairy, but later in 2007, with Palin's support, the unprofitable business was put up for sale. There were no offers in December 2007, when the minimum bid was set at $3.35 million,[47][48] and the dairy was closed that month."

3. "In May 2008, Palin objected to the decision of Dirk Kempthorne, the Republican United States Secretary of the Interior, to list polar bears as an endangered species. She threatened a lawsuit to stop the listing amid fears that it would hurt oil and gas development in the bears' habitat off Alaska's northern and northwestern coasts. She also called the global warming theory supported by Kempthrone and most scientists "unreliable", and asserted that human activity has not caused Arctic ice to melt. She said the move to list the bears was premature and was not the appropriate management tool for their welfare at the time.[41]"

4. "Palin has said she has good friends who are gay,[17] opposes same-sex marriage,[17] but complied with an Alaskan state Supreme Court order and signed an implementation of same-sex benefits into law, stating that legal options to avoid doing so had run out.[76] She supported a non-binding referendum for a constitutional amendment to deny benefits to homosexual couples.[77]"

ok...so..

1 & 2. She has shown to use her political office to effect her personal life, to the point where she has removed capable ppl from their position because they supported someone else, and were lax to follow along with her ideas. One of these such incidences is because of her sister having a divorce, and his boss refusing to fire the man because of that.

What is she going to do when Congress or Senate doesn't agree with McCain or herself?...tell them their fired??

Thanks Palin...you've given new meaning to the term "bitch on a power trip"

3. umm...considering that there really is only ONE region of the world that polar bears live in...and that your going to start drilling up there, removing a large chunk of their enviroment...when do you want them put on the endangered list??...when you can only see them in zoos and in Coke-Cola Commercials??...

and hey stupid...but there are DECADES of proof that the thinning of the Ozone is a Man-Made problem...so Global Warming...yeah....we did that!!!

4. wow...I seen less flip-flopping from a mime pretending to be a fish. Lets oppose it....then sign a bill that goes against your opposition....and then make a law that denies any kind of benefits to those that followed what you made available. Geez Palin...their already gay...how much more fucked up the ass do they need to be??

Care to actually cite your sources instead of just assuming that everyone else will think what you've said is reliable.

If we're playing word games, how about:

Obama, Biden. Change the B to an S and add N LA and you get - Osama Bin Laden.

but...lets get back to Palin herself....a woman that has a track record of making public descisions based on her personal wishes....

From what I've heard, she also got rid of the Governor's car to save money and drives herself, and she also got rid of the Governor's plane to save even more money, because she owns her own plane and flies herself. She doesn't play politics and tries to always do what's ethically correct and in the best interest of the people.

But, I'm just arguing for the sake of arguing. I have no sources either; just citing hearsay. Definitely going to have to do some research on this one.

I think I speak for everyone here when I say ANYTHING is better than what we have now.

This lady seems like an intelegent lady, I read a bit about her on the Alaska Governer biography site, before it was taken down.

McCain chosing this lady proves that he's just as much a maverick as he was.

At least now this has become a race, and for once the two best canadates were elected at the primary.

These guys are by far the classyest canadates for the Presidency in recent memory.

I just have to say something about Polar Bears. Please, someone read more about them than talking points from political groups. Please.

Here's a starter for you...

1972 - Polar Bear population estimated to be 5000

Now - Polar Bear population estimated to be 20,000-25,0000

Wait a second....

just because I didn't cite the sources, which are Wikipedia and I followed up everything in several national newspaper sites, doesn't mean that none of it it true

and ethically correct?

you call this ethically correct?

"Palin has said she has good friends who are gay,[17] opposes same-sex marriage,[17] but complied with an Alaskan state Supreme Court order and signed an implementation of same-sex benefits into law, stating that legal options to avoid doing so had run out.[76] She supported a non-binding referendum for a constitutional amendment to deny benefits to homosexual couples."

the only reason she signed that bill was because they had her knickers in a legal bind, but just to SPITE all of them, she then goes off to support the "no benefits for samesex marriage" band wagon...how is that an "ethical" descision??

and what about this?

"When on June 6, 2007, the Alaska Creamery Board recommended closing Matanuska Maid Dairy, an unprofitable state-owned business, Palin objected, citing concern for the impact on dairy farmers and the fact that the dairy had just received $600,000 in state money. There were no offers in December 2007, when the minimum bid was set at $3.35 million,[47][48] and the dairy was closed that month."

They wanted to shut that place down a while ago...but she wouldn't let them...because she didn't want to loose the state money....you know what the place FINALLY sold for?...try 1.5 million...a 1.85 million dollar loss, at least, for the state...because she was "worried about the farmers"....which is bullshyt...if it was unprofitable, then it's not really doing the farmers any damn good....nor the state, which lost money on that BECAUSE Of her.

I don't see her being "ethically" amazing...yeah...she got rid of the governers car...and the plane...fine...but damn if she also didn't loose a couple million dollars of state money as well.

oh..and here ya go

"While running for Governor of Alaska she was asked about the teaching of creationism in public school science classes. Palin answered that she thought it was important to teach both sides of the debate in the schools, although she clarified the next day that she meant that open debate between the two ideas should not be prohibited if it came up in discussion, but that creationism did not need to be part of the curriculum."

so it's ok to debate something, but not have the information on half the debate??....COMON!!!!

Hey Gaf

"The number of nesting pairs of Bald Eagles in the lower 48 states had increased from less than 500 in the early 1960's to over 10,000 in 2007. "

Their delisted...but still under close observation...even there are over 10,000 nesting PAIRS....so thats like 20,000 birds just in North America.

I see no reason for not keeping an eye on the bears....maybe not the endangered list...but their current "vulnerable" status is a good one.

oh...and one question....are those facts on the bears counting EVERYTHING....or just that in the wild??

Wiki:

"Of the 19 recognized polar bear subpopulations, 5 are declining, 5 are stable, 2 are increasing, and 7 have insufficient data"

Declining and stable don't seem like enough to warrant to say the bears are "o-tay".

"The IUCN now lists global warming as the most significant threat to the polar bear, primarily because the melting of its sea ice habitat reduces its ability to find sufficient food. Sea ice melting will also cause changes in their mating, and traveling patterns. The IUCN states, "If climatic trends continue polar bears may become extirpated from most of their range within 100 years."

Hey...is Global Warming that effect that Palin insist's isn't the fault of human beings??

and yet...

CSA.com

"As CRS Issue Brief RL30792, The Endangered Species Act: Consideration of Economic Factors (January 2001; April 2003) explains, "the listing stage may include facts related to a species population, habitat, distribution, etc., as well as threats to its continued survival, but must not include economic factors."

OMG....does that mean the Global Warming is effecting the habitat and distribution of the polar bears??
