due to some recent, unforeseen, events i am in immediate need of a JOB (being a single mom with 3 kids and no money coming in at all from anywhere) so i was wondering if anyone on dgn knows of anyone who might need some babysitting, housecleaning, any kind of extra help with anything they are willing to pay for?

if you know of anything or hear of anything please keep me in mind and let me know.

i am willing/able to start doing whatever it is starting tomorrow!

it can be full time. i do want full time. but for now i am looking for just about any damn thing i can get.

as far as school/training... it's very limited. as in basically, zilch. i have been a stay at home mom for many many years and last time i worked i was a teaching assistant (but without a degree in teaching)

i just applied for food stamps. tomarrow I'm going to labor ready. map quest labor ready. work today paid today. it's a crack head temp sevice but it's right up the alley of anyone desperate. got a clean liscence and a car you can trash you might make money delivering pizza.

or an uncle told me to go too these richer neighborhoods like yours and put up flyers for a dog walking service. Says another neice makes a shit ton of cash doing it. especially if you had an older kid who would help. learn stuff about dogs just to bullshit people with technical lingo. maybee go so far to get a tax id number and limited liability ins. make friends with dog groomers, put business cards in there stores in pet stores earn a reputation build business from the ground up.

it's something you could start on right away, don't ever panic be cool calm assuring. when selling the service you should get 1 out of every 10 or 15 people you talk to so count every no as 1 no closer to a sale there is a law of probability with sales 1 in 10 is extreamly good 1 in 20 is poor but without the no's then your just not working and being lazy you'll have to talk to people to sell the service, reputation go's real far.

research other dog walking services especially in your area. find out laws regarding permits or animal control, but don't let those assholes make your kids go hungry fuck em if they can't take a joke. also labor laws with the kids helping. you can wheigh the risk yourself. find out common problems dog walkers face and how there dealt with. maybee avoid pitbulls and amstaff's

also a flexable no contract approach, a free assesment of the dog,

Try looking at Craigslist. You may have some luck with it.

Here is the Metro-Detroit page: http://detroit.craigslist.org/ Now, go to "jobs," and look at all the different offerings. You can search particular cities or townships, or whatever position you are looking for.

Hope this is of some help, luv. I know exactly what you are going through. Michigan is breaking my heart right now. I don't want to leave her, but I can barely afford to stay.

The place I just got a job at is pretty much always hiring. If you can stand late nights (or for that matter be able to work nights) and carpet cleaning thow me a pm and I'll give you the number. Its only fair to mention though that its only $8ph so if you have to pay child care it might not even out. It does happen to be in the area you are looking for (13 & dequinder)

The dog-walking idea is good. If you can scare up some good references, you might also offer house-and pet-sitting services. These days you gotta be entrepreneurial... there are plenty of folks out there making a living by providing services like organizing and de-cluttering people's homes, shopping & running errands, whatever. Just don't get suckered by any "work from home" scams!

Good luck sweetie!

I actually have a friend in that business in Wisconsin. Its pretty saturdated here in MI, but like they said, go to the rich neighborhoods and post up fliers. but you knwo what gets WAY more money?? I had a pig friend online cleaning up DOG POOP! she made a free website on geocities and put them on friers and put them in every mailbox flag that had dog poop or dogs in the yard. DONT PUT THEM INSIDE THE BOX! thats illegal. Its best, again, if you go to the rich subs. basically what you do is you tell them a free assessment. if they have one little dog pooping very little you can charge $25-35/wk and come once a week. like $10 more to come twice. if there is more than one dog you can charge more. and if they want a one time cleanup, its based ont he amount to clean up. do your research and see what other people are doing! I can give you the email of my friend who does pet sitting, and might be able to give you the email of the pooper-scouper person. you just basically need gloves, grocery bags and a scoup stick.... that way you dont have to bed over. if you can get 3 jobs a day, thats over $100 a day CASH!!! She makes between $400-800/wk.

good luck! lots of great ideas on here!

get the sunday edition of the oakland press too. they have ads int here that they dont post online. I think that the eccentric uses Career Builder. unless you have a degree, dont bother! but you can go online to the oakland press too. also look at other papers in your area. go to www.onlinenerspapers.com click on USA, Mich, and then scroll and look up every paper in every city you are willing to work in. just go down the line. GOOD LUCK!

thanks everyone!! i do appreciate you taking your time to read this and give me suggestions/leads.

i should be more specific here and say:

i can not work nights, only day time while the kids are at school (i don't have a sitter for nights and i don't want to miss out on seeing my kids after they have been at school all day if i was working all night anyways)

i am looking for something like... office work that does not require previous experience/degree etc. i know my way around a computer, can file, answer phones etc. but i don't have "skills".

also, for various reasons, i need to work rather close to my house- so i am looking in oakland county. primarily royal oak/ferndale/troy/madison heights/clawson you know anything around that area but i am willing to drive to say warren/roseville/st clair shores as well if the job is right.

my ideal job (and what i am looking for) is working in a school (again, no degree, but plenty of experience with this one, of all ages). i would probably be willing to drive even further for a job like this, only because this is what i WANT to do.

so far i am looking on craigslist, have resumes on various other sites (that does NOT seem to be working out. it keeps giving me leads that do NOT match what i need/can do :()

i am also looking on these sites:

http://www.michigan.gov/nwlb/

http://www.michiganworks.org/page.cfm/1/

http://www.michworks.org/mtb/user/MTB_EMPL.EntryMainPage

maybe some of these sites can help you guys too ;)

    • Feeling happy to report that my neighbor and her cat are now back together.  I build her fur baby an indoor Cat Run and now the cat and her 3 kittens have been moved in.  I told my neighbor to make sure the little ones stay with their mother for at least 3 days in their new environment before she starts letting people handle and take the babies away.    I wish she would keep at least one of the 3 kittens, but apparently they are all already spoken for.

    • Well it happened, understandably but it still sucks.  I hated them both so I was going to be unhappy either way, but I do admit I hate Trump slightly more because of the narcissism, egomania, xenophobia, and misogyny.  On top of that that insufferable base of his who think that they are free to act the same way now that he's won.  The apologetics from them were horrible too where they handwaved away legitimate criticisms, and mocking those who brought them with "orange man bad!"   The one good thing to come out of this is punk music is going to absolutely rock for the next few years.  However I really just have one question... https://www.loudersound.com/features/andrew-eldritch-sisters-of-mercy-will-make-another-album-if-trump-is-elected IT'S HAPPENED TWICE NOW ANDY, WHERE'S OUR FUCKIN' ALBUM‽ Well, I guess at least I'll get to keep my guns.
