Guest Megalicious
Basic brake down. I got a new IPOD, I want to record my lectures from class so I can have them to study from. I have read a few different things on mics you can attach to your IPOD, I just want to know if anyone has ever used one. IF so what brand/make? And pros and cons? Thank much in advance. Slept with ghost
A little tape recorder would work. Like the ones that journalists use. In fact you should just go the extra mile and dress like the stereotypical journalists from older movies when you go to school.

Rayne
Just the wear and tear on your iPod's battery would scare me. Not to mention the cost of something that Apple would retail to attach and make it capable. I have a little Olympus digital recorder ... works beautifully. Records up to 16 hours and can file under different folders and I can transfer the files from the recorder onto the laptop for storage. Takes two AAA's and they last a long time - also has a battery meter that tells you when you need to replace the batteries. It cost $25 at RadioShack a couple of years ago. Way worth it in my opinion. This is the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-VN-1000-Digi...r/dp/B0009Y7IK2 They have come out with even better ones now. Actually not a bad idea, though it will have to be a digital not tape =). Laptop doesn't have enough range, the sound is awful its a rather large lecture Hall, I have to get to class like 1 min before lecture starts because I drop my son of at daycare, so I NEVER would be able to get a seat up front LOL. There is no way I would even consider running it on battery, I have a belkin port hub that plugs into an actually outlet. I have heard the horror stories of skipping lecture recordings due low batteries. Apple doesn't make anything besides the mic in headphones voice recorder. Which is useless for what I want to use it for LOL. I have taken a look at Belkin's voice recorder and a few others, but I just realized something. NO ONE OF THEM IS COMPATABLE with the brand new nano, which I have. So there goes that right out the window. Thanks for the info and the Olympus Mel, I have heard good things =)
