jynxxxedangel
I happen to love football, drinks, and mexican food so OBVIOUSLY I would love to go some Mondays! This is right in my 'hood too. Tonight I'm working OT but normally I'm out @ 7:30 so I'd be mobile around 8:30. What time is the happy hour deal?? I think it starts around 8 pm. My margarita buddy and I will be there next Monday, for sure! Gotta check the NFL schedule, to see who's playing..

StormKnight (1)
I have yet to find a place to fall in love with food wise here. Most of the times I have eaten out recently has been for not wanting home faire. Kind of functional. Don't know if that is because I eat alone or if it's ennui. Simon Bar Sinister
Black Lotus 14 mile @ Main, Clawson a combination coffeehouse/brewery/eatery...it gets mention because a) they sell McClure's pickles there ($9/jar and worth it), and b) from time to time they brew a Belgian-style ale that's over 13% alcohol. They'll only sell you 2 on a given visit. Food's pretty dang good, too.
Homicidalheathen
Rams Horn at Masonic and Utica It may be the aryan brotherhood of rams horn...(all the waiters are natural blondes?) jynxxxedangel
The Lion's Den, in Waterford, is my favourite restaurant--EVER. My second favourite is O'Malley's Galley, in Ortonville (formerly in Holly).
Simon Bar Sinister
2 items from the Pontiac area: 1) there's a coney island called Yiani's; it's in the Oakland Pointe (telegraph@Elizabeth Lk) shopping center. They do a flaming Polish sausage variation on the whole "Opa!" thing. 2) new Mexican restaurant: Mi Zarape, Opdyke@Square Lk. Fucking AWESOME. StormKnight (1)
Found a place for us Downriver sushi fans. O-Samurai Sushi-Steakhouse, off of Eureka. Looks like a hole in the wall affair, but entering it it is nice, clean and polite. Fish was sliced directly off the steak and was of good quality. The eel was carefully manicured (no bones.) Rice was good, and the people (unlike some other places down here,) are quite polite. Sat at the bar and ran through $85.00 worth of sushi. They have a House Roll of eel, crab, and then cooked tempura style that was excellent. And for those that don't like sushi, they have steak grills around for parties. pomba gira
Ai Fusion in East Lansing Mitchell Fish Market in the East-whatever mall on Lake Lansing Rd. Golden Wok in East Lansing and don't know if it counts as a "restaurant", but the buy & fry place on MLK near Holmes is unbeatable for fried fish & chicken wings. Run by three Iraqi brothers who apparently made a deal at the crossroads to learn perfect soul food cooking.
jynxxxedangel
Chung's of Waterford THE BEST, and most reasonably-priced, Chinese and Japanese food in the area-- bar none. The menu is extensive, and the choices are nearly endless. The service is top notch. I cannot endorse this restaurant enough. This place is the closest thing to an authentic Hong Kong dining experience I've had, outside of Hong Kong. It's on Harrison north of the Breslin Center (or at least it was the last time I was there) and, every time my friends and I have eaten there, we were the only non-Asians in the place. awesome food, dirt cheap!
