Piercing-Mounted Eyeglasses.

I just came across this on BMEzine, and thought i'd share.

Is this something that you would do? Why/ Why not?

For the people who don't want to read the article below, they are eyeglasses that use a bridge piercing to stay in place.

[at least that would end the whole pesky slipping-down-your-nose thing...]

Article is: HERE.

nope

many a keyboardist and or guitar player has told me they wont wear rings for this reason...

one time i went to go outside and on the way past the screen door my ring got caught...damn near pulled my finger right off

i am way to clutzy

you you see me running into some tree branches on my bike...and ripping that thing out???

besides, i get infected from foreign objects easy and our familys skin (moms side) is weird...we get hyper growth on our nails ans swallow earings and stiches (skin grows over) easy

I have a double nosebridge piercing. I would personally opt to not build glasses for my bridge because they took about 9 months to look not angry. Surface piercings tend to have a very high rejection rate. Also, I only wear my glasses when riding my bicycle or when I want to look intellectual.

I won't wear rings (well, except the flash pot kind or for special occasions) because they just don't feel right. I don't like constriction anywhere except corsets.

Another big problem I would have with the bridge glasses is making out... My bridges, which have simply curved barbells in them, got snagged on her face quite often. For the next two weeks, people were asking me if the bridges were new despite being about 8 months old. I also tend to prefer to NOT wear glasses under such circumstances.

I think this is dumb. I wear glasses and I dont want to and I am geeting LASIK. Why would I want glasses peirced to my face? I get into scraps I dont someone to snatch the glasses out of my face and the whole everyday accident factor. I would not do it. Waste of money, time, skin and stainless steel.

I think the idea was good in theory, but they definitely lacked in the long term plan aspect of it. I'm also getting lasik, I've been told I look good with my glasses ON, but they're just way too much of a hassle and I can't afford to keep getting new contacts all the time. Also, I'm with you on the clutzy thing, anametamystik. I'm constantly catching jewelry/clothes on stuff..and like I said before all it would take is to be drunk [or in the heat of the moment lol] and be taking your shirt off, not paying attention...annnnd OUCH. I was just curious as to whether others would have the same opinion, being as we're a subculture that has an affinity for body mods. ;x
