Guest greyhalo
Book #11 of Jim Butcher's "The Dresden Files" series is coming out on October 14, 2008. It's called "The Dresden Files: Welcome to the Jungle." Anyway, who else is a fan of the books and/or the former television series? I love both! Guest greyhalo
Yeah...why did they pull it... the Wife & I were just talkin' about that last night! The show was awesome! It was also very successful, and many people are disappointed that it was canceled after one season. But, apparently they ran over-budget on producing it. Nightgaunt
I had no idea there were that many books in the series! I think I've read the first four... There's another series out there about a paranormal detective that's a little edgier... Simon R. Green's Nightside Series.

Nightgaunt
I am told they get better with time... I am not giving up on it... it was just a little cliche They do. I was kinda "meh" about it at first, too. Oddly, I found the audiobook versions to be more entertaining than reading. James Marsters of Buffy fame does the reading... freydis
I had no idea there were that many books in the series! I think I've read the first four... There's another series out there about a paranormal detective that's a little edgier... Simon R. Green's Nightside Series. Bleh. I have NO idea how Simon Green got to be so prolific. His books are good ideas, with not enough writing to flesh them out and prop them up. Jim Butcher may push around over-used ideas, but he does it well. I like the Dresden Files... Another one who does the job well with the whole "paranormal investigation" bit is Kim Harrison, or Patricia Briggs. If you're looking for something with LOADS of material and don't mind graphic novels (comics) go for the Hellblazer series. That would be one that's edgy, too. I've always pictured Harry Dresden as grizzled and bitter. I guess I like em that way.
