I am a neat freak...so yah...

that is disgusting, where do they poo? never mind...

its a major sign of depression that AD'S to the problem

it appears they might do it on the bathroom floor. uck.

i would not even want to WALK through that house and let my feet/clothes come in contact with that house let alone live there! it's so sad to see stuff like that and like what was mentioned up there ^^ that no one is close to this woman to see she did this?? i guess it is safe to say she probably let NO ONE in so they never got to see. but still....

As I went on reading the comments for that thread, it was stated that the place was absolutely infested with fleas. It was also stated (at least as far as I read up to) that the two cats were NO PLACE to be found at that point. The writer of the thread thought they may have actually been dead underneath all that rubbish someplace. They probably died of anemia from flea bites, as I'm sure there were plenty of food scraps laying around. I'll have to read on, out of morbid curiousity-- just to find out if the apartment managers ever found the cats..

i read stuff on that here and there and did happen to catch that it was one cat, and it was brought to live with a family member. i didn't read many of the beginning to middle posts but rather stuff at the end.

click to read the commets.. its quite entertaining... lol

in all seriousness.... never in my ever loving mind. i am lazy, yes, but when i start tripping over shit (that's not mine, mind you) i make a trash pile, and sweep it towards the door. I REAFUSE to live in anything remotly like that.

granted my room is very cluttered, because i have no storage, but nothing like that... there is not filth...maybe some dust, but that's a health risk... i feel sorry for those that have to live next to that, and the smell seeping through the walls...

wonder how long it took them to clean that?????

Yeah, Andrea is my roommate, but keep in mind yesterday she cleaned her ass off, but swept everything into a pile that is still there lol (waiting to drop that one on ya but didn't want to be yelled at lol)

we have three very dirty potbellied pigs, we have three BIG people living there that are kinda messy (especially my husband) and one of our pigs, Pickle, has been digging to china in our front yard, then getting in his pool, and then back to digging, and then coming in the house a filthy mess. but even OUR PLACE inst like that! a tiny bit cluttered and the carpets need cleaning every few months ... but WOW!!!

I agree with the person that said it was an illness. often times people like that end up hording animals if they live in a place that allows them. It is a major mental illness and that person could have alot more wrong with them. with me, since I have OCD, anxiety and depression, when things get too messy, I give up because it overwhelms me. it takes a helping hand to get me motivated and then I go nutz :)

When I see a place like that my first instinct is to start shoveling it for them. I know it sounds gross, but I am very giving and quite the caretaker. Ive been a nanny for 10+ years and Ive always managed to get position with messy places, so I spend my time after the kids are in bed or during naps to start cleaning. but I would INSIST the person help me. Id probably be wearing elbow high gloves too lol. but,,, thats just me, always the over-board friend lol

I don't think that an obsessive compulsive would let their house get like THIS. They would have it terribly and deathly CLEAN, not the way this person is, and eve if they hoard things away it's always organized.

This is not true. What little people dont knwo about me, is that I am actualy disabled with mental illness, legally. but I am very high functioning socially for all that I have, which is strange. but OCD you dont HAVE to be a neat freak. I have medium-severe OCD and Im nto a neat freak at all. I will go into these episodes where I have to have things clean, but I get so overwhelend I dont get the whole place done. I also have a phobia about doing the dishes, which wouldnt you think was a neat-freak thing???

OCD pretty much means you are obsessed with one thing or another (you also have to have what are called "obtrusive thoughts" to be TOTALLY dignosed, I went thru alot of testing)... you dont HAVE to be a neat freak, but you DO have to have several obsessions. so what if thier obsession is hording or they are obsessed with NOT doing cleaning??? they could be paranoid that if they clean things will change, so they live like that because of it.

I had a friend that was worried about contaminating people with his "boy juice" so he cut off all ties, and then it ended up where he freaked about it getting thru the computer in data form and had to get offline. he was very very very sick with OCD, probably worse than you could ever imagine, but he was not an obsessive cleaner at all.

anyway... point made. sorry I drilled it into the ground :)

Depends on the type of OCD. Believe it or not, many people get like this because they ARE perfectionists. this thing isn't JUST SO...and they get frustrated, and they leave it. And forty years of that leaves one hell of a mess.

Often the reason people don't get help is because they don't tell anyone.

For many people, their family and friends are not allowed in their homes.

I wasn't even really allowed 'in'. I was allowed on the porch, with food. They opened the door a crack - I could see everything, and as soon as their eyes met mine, I could see the shame and embarrassment in theirs. Eventually, I would be allowed in, for some, and I helped where and how I could, but often they simply need alot of professional help.

I'm not saying that people CAN'T be this lazy. Oh no, they certainly can. There are houses I've been in that I didn't even want the bottoms of my shoes touching their floors. I just don't think that is what is happening in this particular case.

Maybe the lady who didn't pay her rent has turned into a pizza. That would explain her disappearance.

She must look like Jabba the Hut, judging by her diet.

More like Pizza The Hut. lol Seriously though, I half expected to see a decomposing body among the filth. I once knew someone who grew up in a filthy environment like that & when I saw the inside of her house, it was all I could do from throwing up. The stench was so bad. Where's the health department when ya need them? That place should've been condemed years ago. GROSS.

i have my reasons for what i do... :p :p :p

anyways... i read the comments in the forum where it was posted from, and some even suggested that not only the cats were under there (as JynxxxedAngel stated) but that the tenet was under there, as well... its gotta be some kind of complusion, because if you look, even the garbage is semi organized.

the person who took those, and took the picture of his shoe next to some poo on the carpet said that was the only visible carpet left.

i hope that they found the other cat. they did say one had been found at some family memeber's house...

one idiot was mad because they entered the person's house w/o their permission.... I'm sure that the surrounding occuments complained about the smell, as well as the occument being awal. if the person hasn't paid rent in a long ass time, and seems to have left (no activity of any kind) then one or two thing happened, they left, or died. so they HAVE to go in there... some people are just dumb.

i feel bad for that person, because if they live like that, there, they may let their next resedence get that way...

sad...

I was about to say that our apartment was pretty bad (there's 3 guys and me, and I work all the time so I would rather sleep than pick up the place) but thats pretty awful.

There was a segment on D & D a few years ago about this guy who died in his apartment and their description of the place was even worse than that--anyone remember what I"m talking about?

JFC jinnxy! Last night I took a look that those, and couldn't help but going in to SUPER cleaning mode lastinight. MY HOUSE IS FUCKING SPOTLESS.

For the most part I am a neat freak, but I went above and beyond last night, scrubbing and clean for 5 hours, what most of you would consider a VERY clean house.

I couldn't help it.
