at work - answer questions. Asking questions can only lead to trouble.

In real life - I guess ask - what you all don't know, but I will reveal right here, right now, is I have a collection of, I don't know, like seventy or so interviews. Interviews that I did with people who I thought were interesting.

It's amazing what people tell you, even if you're a complete stranger. You just have to ask the right question.

The best part about asking all those questions - One of my interviewees was a guy named Paul. He was like a hundred. He died three months ago. I went to his funeral and gave his children the CD of his interview, and of course in the interview he talked about how awesome his kids were and how much he loved them. They ALL cried.

:peanutbutterjellytime:

It totally made my day that they cried.

I am an asker. I like to know how things work, the when, the why, the how. The only way I'm going to learn about something new is to ASK questions. I do not like the sound of my own voice, I like to listen, take in, analyze and absorb.

I tend to be an answerer myself (no big surprise.) I tend to get asked questions than ask. Most of the answers I need I receive by observation. I also what one would consider an explanation fetish. But as long as I have verifiable facts (I try to make sure I do; if not, I will let the questioner know,) I tend not to mind

Me too. I get asked many questions. I am comfortable answering most anything, and if I am not, I will say so. I am not comfortable asking a lot of questions (when it's not work). People sometimes mistake my lack of asking questions to lack of interest. It is absolutely not. I learn most of what I want through the conversations we have, catching subtle cues, and paying attention. Then, if I want to know more, I will ask, spend more time with them, or both.
