Basic cookie recipe?

For the record, when using splenda to bake, you should use a mix of half and half real sugar and splenda. That works out best and you will end up with perfect cookies/cakes/whatever with reduced sugar and calories.

I often wonder what these artificial things do to one's body. I say just make them with real sugar and real butter and eat them less often or limit yourself to only a couple.

I no likee fake food.

Agreed.

If you eat "real" food, and actually take time to enjoy it, you'll find it takes less to satisfy you. Especially if you get used to eating cookies, ice cream or whatever as a TREAT, not an everyday thing.

I read somewhere (several places actualy) that the problem with "low-fat" foods is, in order for food to be palatable it HAS to have a certain amount of fat, sugar, or salt. If one is reduced, one of the others has to be increased or the food will be straight-up nasty. And it STILL won't be as satisfying to the palate as "the real thing"... which is why people mong down whole packages of Snackwells or whatever in one sitting.

AFA cookies... the slice n bake or pre-formed dough works wonders for me AFA reducing my cookie intake. I keep it in the freezer and when I have the taste just bake 3 or 4 cookies. That way I don't have a whole batch of cookies sitting around to nibble on.
