To quote Randal, "All right look, there's only one return, okay, and it ain't "of the King," it's "of the Jedi."

Though I do love Tolkien, very much.

I know I will get many "WTF!?!?!"s by this answer but,

I've never seen either. I saw the first three original Star Wars movies EONS ago when I was a kid. Jabba rulez, that's what stood out to me when I was a kid. I do remember the movies though. I've also played the video games and have picked up on quite a bit of Star Warsism just from that.

As for LOTR...everyone in my family is obsessed with it. My Boshy has been reading the same three LOTR books for like 10 years now, since I bought her a new set of them when I was 12 (her other ones, I believe were pretty hit). So I've never seen the movies but pretty much have the grasp of what it's about.

So with all that said, I will pick Star Wars FTW. I liked the story better and I'm always more of a futuristic sci-fi person than an olden days D&D kinda person anyday.

I generally prefer sci fi to fantasy, but LOTR just has way too much class. I'll generally have to pick class over fun-romp when it comes to "votes". If we were just talking about going to see a flick or hanging out that'd be different. (tie broken at this point :p ) Not that I don't like star wars, definitely like star wars. It has a sort of apples to oranges feel to me to try and pick between the two.
