Nienna
Though it was definately involving cursing and a lot of learning, I did make a heavy duty corset tonight. It is a half bust waist cincher, with steel busk and 14 1/2" sprung steel bones. Total waist reduction is 5", and the thing weighs almost 1 LB! I made it with a solid cotton inner layer, and used a purple satin novelty print (Hello Kitty!) outside. So.. I may be able to start making these for others with alittle more practice. I'm all excited... *L* The pics don't show the shape it makes a real body, but you get the gist!

I'm thinking of starting to waist train full time, or at least wear corsets when not at work or other places it would be "taboo".

Lilith
Wow , wow , wow , wow I dont think you will need much more practice befor you are happy with your results, looks damn near perfect from where i am sitting. My daughter wants it by the way she loves hello kitty, and dressing up in my corsettes even though they are like little stiff hour glass looking skirts on her. A fun thing to see. i already have a fabric in mind, aproximatly how much fabric would you need, i know i depends on what style, size, etc.... but what would be a good amount of fabric to get for just about any corsett. If there was any fabric left over i would not mind i am sure you or my self could find some fun uses for the left overs. The fabric i have in mind is rather expensive but once in a whle i see it on sale, even if it would be some time befor you were ready to do commisions and or i had the cash to pay you i would like to pick the fabric up on sale and save it till everything falls in place. Lilith <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Almost any corset could be made in 1 yd of fabric. Just get me the face and I'll get the liner since it's so specific. (It needs to breathe, not fray, not stretch, color not bleed, etc.) I feel that after completing my next one I should have it down. I'm wearing Hello Kitty to CC this weekend to see how it holds up to drunken antics. (It promises to be a weird night) If it comes through no worse for wear it will have passed the test!
