So I know this isn't quite the "goth" thing. However, there is a Hip Hop Summit taking place this Saturday in Detroit that costs $10 and is all about managing money...keeping the money you have and making it grow into more. It's a radical idea from Russell Simmons. Suze Orman (sp?) is going to be there. Wow. If anyone is interested, tix are avail at ticketmaster.

I wish Russell Simmons would shut the hell up about everything. He was on CNN debating John Mcwhoter about calling women "bitches" and obviously that is wrong, right? Well Simmons tried all kinds of wordplay to defend rappers who degrade women and would not admit it's wrong. I can't stand that guy.

Ok sorry for that diatribe. I know it has nothing to do with the topic. But really, I hate that guy.

Damn. I wish I could be in town for that. Any musician should be present. If there is ANY musical movement that makes money, it is the Hip Hop genre. This could show a LOT of bands how to make the cash and put it back into the band to better themselves and their presentation. I could show a WHOLE list of bands from around here that desperately need some type of financial kick in the ass. LOL

LOL "Hip Hop money management semminar"

Reminds me of something my friend wrote earlier today about how he was reading a comic and it made fun of the fact that retards are smarter than inner city african americans. Then he looked it up and it's apparently true.

This makes me think if the hip hop community has so much money why don't they hire some tutors, stick them in some teflon kevlar vests, and send them in?

I figure that is the same for white people who actually live in those areas too. Just none live to see graduation heh.

well I think that is the point of the summit, to educate many of the rappers (and others) who blow their money how to spend it better.

watch the show cribs, rappers with 1 minor hit living in huge mansions with 4 sports cars. Many many rappers have gone broke. I hate Russel Simmons, but I think he is trying to do some good here.

Yes, I think it's a good thing and money management is something we all can use. (More money is always better than less.)
