Moving again?

So I have an opportunity to move to either Huntington Beach, California and learn the family business. My uncle is coming into town the first weekend of June and he wants an answer. (The business is similar to Noir.) I'm not sure what I want to do. Anyone have any advice?

i would love to live in Cali....

do you want to run the business?

Well, the thing of it is, my uncle has no children, he's a multi-millionaire, and the business (along with all of his other stuff) will be 50 percent mine and 50 percent my sister's upon his demise. (It's a good thing that we get along.) She's considering moving out there after August. I guess if she decides to do that, the move can wait for me. I don't mind learning the biz, I personally just am not fond of California. Perhaps I'll be able to co-manage it from here while she is there.

Multi-millionare you say? You could take some of that and open up another branch out this way (though Keith might kill me for saying that heh).

My best friend Todd is the heir to a plumbing supply throne. So he's basically set for life.l Being set for life isn't necessarily a bad thing and the world will always be in need of goth/industrialleather/bondage/sex shops, at least IMO.

In any case good luck with it.

Moving far away like that is a big step. Learning the buisness would be cool though! When I moved away twice like that, it was hard to get over being homesick - I still get it every now and then when I think about all the fun stuff and people i'm missing... But if it's worth it to you in the long run - go for it! You'll never know whats to come of it if you missed out and then you might be kicking yourself later!
